      I cant dream

I've heard from several people that its impossible to never dream, that I simple dont remember my dreams. but, even if thats true, shouldnt I still have some recollection of having a dream, even if I cant remember anything about it?

is it possible for me to start dreaming(or at least start remembering them) or is this whole lucid dreaming thing a lost cause for me?

p.s. I have dreamed in the past. I remember dreaming as a young child(~8 years old, and they were usually lucid). I can think of 3 times where I have dreamed in the past 4 years.

Wow. That's pretty unusual. I've heard of this before, but not for some time. I would suggest trying valerian root. It has a tendency to produce very vivid dreams. I have tried it and it usually give me very vivid, unusual dreams. Maybe try that?

Everyone dreams, and you are forgetting it.
Once, I woke up sad I had no dreams. I had no recollection of dreaming anything. No subconscious nag that I had a dream. No fragments in my head. Completely sure I had no dreams at all. Then later, as I was coming home more than several hours after waking up, I suddenly saw something that triggered a memory and I remembered a bit of my dream. I was amazed!

I agree with Loaf completely, you are having dreams except your just not remembering them.

I've had a a experience exactly the same as Loaf. I woke up, no dream and then later in the day my mum said "The clouds are really dark outside".

I had just remembered a whole dream that was about 20 minutes long (Dream perception)

You should search the forums for things that helped people increase the clarity in dreams, it could just start helping you remember!

My friend used to have the same problem, one thing he did was he would set a silent alarm off in the middle of the night. But be sure this alarm wont wake you up. What this will do is trigger your conscious mind to tap into your sub-conscious mind, just enough to remember what dream you were having.

The same goes for me. I can't recall any dreams for like 3 years now. It was plainly nothing when i awaken, but I figured that i never even thought of recalling my dreams, the same second I wake up I jump out of the bed and the dreams are gone. 2 days ago I came back to this forum readed some articles on Dream Recall and they helped. It's only two days and I have partly recalled 3 dreams. I hope I'll get better and have an LD soon.

      Good luck to you.

The same goes for me. I've had several ocasions where my memory was triggered and I remembered some dreams.
To the OP, just try recalling, you will see that you dream every night but couldn't remember it.

Some people just hardly ever remember their dreams. Maybe try staying in bed without moving for a few moments; I've heard staying in bed while trying to remember makes it easier to recall dreams.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Fill your bladder before going to bed and You'll increase the chance of waking up right after the REM phase.

I just read I thread about B6 and B12 vitamins increasing the clarity of dreams. This fellow who started the thread said he drank a Monster Energy Drink, and had vivid, memorable dreams, no mention of lucidity. My girlfriend who wakes up tired and complains about being plagued by restless nights full of dreams, thought that your situation sounded positive but I'm sure if your looking into this issue that it bothers you. Good luck.

Try doing a few of the techniques that you can find on the forums here. My suggestion for you would be to set an alarm for about 6 hours after you've been sleeping. Wake up, go to the bathroom, get a drink, and fall back asleep. Then you will fall asleep for a few more hours and usually, but not all the time, this helps you remember a dream because you haven't been sleeping very long. Waking up and going back to bed is a very good method for getting into dreams.
