Do people who are mentally disabled, or like a vegetable (that bad if you want) know they are in that condition? Or is it like they are basically asleep all there life? I mean are they sat there thinking to themselves, "i cant do nothing, im mentally disabled" or something? |

I think it depends on the condition and the person. |
|
I think it differs with the condition. Some people are very far out of it mentally, so they can't completely understand that they're "different". Some people are fully able to understand this. That's my guess. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

My mother works to rehabilitate people that suffered brain injuries, she says some of them remember how they were before their accident and get frustrated because they aren't able to function as well. |

I am not mentally disabled. |

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
Yeah, it does depend on the condition. I've met some mentally handicapped people who were aware they are mentally handicapped. |

I think some do, especially if they are borderline. Of course they might argue it. But that isn't so much a mental thing, as much as its a pride issue. |
|
Yeah... being borderline is probably one of the keys. |
