Heh. I've got a stack of books about that high sitting on my night stand. Most of them I've purchased recently.

Let's see what's in the stack:

      1. Gravity's Rainbow
      2. All Quiet on the Western Front
      3. The Dosadi Experiment
      4. Slaughterhouse Five
      5. The Prince
      6. Neuromancer
      7. Dune
      8. The Discourses
      9. Lord of the Flies

I've also got loads of other stuff lying around all over the place including, but not limited to, a psychology textbook, a book by David Icke, a dozen or so ebooks, and a secret stash of special books.

I also read mine very slowly over long periods, but very quickly in short bursts. The thing about buying and reading books is that you never feel the least bit guilty.

nerve, how old is that Poe book?

I think my library has a few hundred books in it. You're not addicted until you get to that point

      ninj: older than you, faggot.

I think it's Freud's psychoanalysis of his poems, but, I'm not entirely sure, it's all in french.

      Eagle: special...books..?

I see Palahniuk in there. You have good taste.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

That reminds me. I've got a Poe book dating back to 1927 laying around here somewhere.

Books that are filled with useful yet amoral information some would label immoral or just ones that I don't want other people to know I read.

Also, what's up with all the sex books?

My dad's book collection is a lot more interesting than mine.
No One Here Gets Out Alive
      Full Moon (Keith Moon biography)
      The Prophecies Of Nostradamus
      The Pearl
      Of Mice And Men
      The Winter Of Our Discontent
Soon To Be A Major Motion Picture (lol)
Selected Writings of Ralph Waldo Emmerson
      Walden and "Civil Disobedience"
      Gifts Of The Lotus
two interesting and philosophical books by Hugh Prather called Notes To Myself and I Touch the Earth, the Earth Touches Me

and that's just the tip of the iceburg. I haven't mentioned anything from his other bookshelf containing his nonfiction/historical/reference books.

Mmm, I still find it's very hard to get absorbed in an LCD screen. Too harsh. Books are so much easier on the eye... the words enter your eye by diffusion and you soon forget the book's there.

Just realised you're a fellow Brit btw. Hi thar. And go to bed.

Lol, Yeah I guess nothing ever is as good as it looks on paper... Even I find it kinda hard reading of a LED/AMOLED (Nowadays) screen...

Brits, FTW.. I didn't get any sleep last night until 10am at which point I woke up 3 hours later at 1pm... So my sleep debt is:
