      Best & Worst Jobs

I recently submitted a list of my previous employments to my Human Resources dept. and in doing so I realized that over the years (since I was 15) I have been employed in a number of different fields and occupation...some were enjoyable and some were not.

So I was wondering what is/was the BEST and WORST job(s) that you have ever had? If you have never been employed or have only worked one job in your lifetime, then you can just state what you think would be the BEST and WORST job that you could have.

My Favorite Job = Fitness Trainer (I love making people hurt...in a good way)

My Worst Job = Cleaning the furnaces at a Crematorium (that job only lasted 2 weeks for me...I'll post the story as to why I quit when I get some more time)

The job I want to do most: Sing for a living with the woman I love most.

Worst job: Assembly line worker. I could never do that.

Well so far I've only worked on our farm, I'm hoping to get a job at the vineyards soon for the harvest, but not really much variety.

Well I guess I could say the best and worst jobs on a farm... Although most jobs are hard work, they all have their little perks, but anyways...

      Best jobs on the farm:
Most definatley helping with the shearing. It's just so full of excitement and the whole year is built around it... plus I love the smell of wool.
Fixing windmills is also ok, but it's a little daunting clinging to the top of a 40 foot tower in the middle of a gale while the fan-blade could quite easily decapitate you

      Worst jobs on the farm:
Lamb-marking by far. Standing in the middle of a paddock drenched in rain and covered in blood. Not the most stimulating job.
The AI programs... getting up at 4:30 am to lift sheep in a 45 degree C shearing shed until 8 pm.... doesn't really have much charm either.

Having said that, I would rather do all of the above than to work in KFC or Macca's anyday.

Well, as of now the only job I've ever had is the job I'm currently employed...A bus moniter!!! Well, I make a lot more than you'd think. Anyway, I imagine the worst job would be a port-a-potty cleaner.....The best job would be a published author (my lifelong aspiration).

best job is the one i'm doing now, care assistant.
Hard work, dodgy hours, but the relationships you develop make up for that a hundredfold.

Worst job? I could never, ever be a dustman. (garbage collector)

It is very interesting, but you have to want to do it, because you work so closely with people and their needs, it's not like going and doing a run of the mill, boring job.
It requires a lot of mental and physical stamina, at least that's what i've found.
And you have to love old people, even when dementia and other illnesses make their behaviour difficult to manage sometimes.
not to put you off, just warning you!!

Of course, there are lots of other branches of care, like disabled children, and more middle aged people.

Best Job: Unboxing and setting up Dell computers! No, seriously, give me a CD player and a box cutter and I'll be good to go for a long time It's a good workout, makes your hands stronger, and you can have a lot of fun with the left-over foam (ie. building castles and declaring war on the dust mites). *Exception: unboxing 17" monitors and tower-computers. Did you know that the normal (not flat-screen) 17" Dell monitors weigh 54 lbs each! And Macs. They're heavy and they suck.

That wasn't all I did with that job last summer, but comprised much of it.

Worst Job: Um.... Selling soda at our rodeo grounds. The first two hours are okay, but after a while carrying around 24+ bottles using straps that cut into your shoulders gets tiring.... in 90+ degree weather, no less. (but doing 4 days of that, I earned a lot of money to go to Disneyland)
