Mine is Edward Elric from Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist). It makes me smile.

Paperdoll's and Lucius' avatars also make me smile. Yum.

It's a stock photo from stock.xchng that has no lisences attached to it (so I could use it legally). And, I liked it.

Mines is from Mess.Be (random display picture) I like it cuase its a skateboard company

This is an old avatar and it originally took me a while to figure out, but it is two clear streams of water crossing each other causing fractal like splash patterns in front of two flowers. I found it on image search.

I just put mine up in a hurry from a collection of pictures I had.

I got mine from Eva Soulu's artwork and projects site.

I love that site, i think her art is very very good. Professional digital artist who does designs for game magazines and advertisments etc.

That particular picture is one i saw and liked, apparently it's a character from an anime show called 'wolf's rain'

And i hate anime. (waits for rak to quote me saying that and stick a angry emoticon onto her post)

I LOVE anime. In fact, with the exception of a little while where I was using an original wasup avatar, all my avatars have been from anime. If I remember right, I started out with Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon, then went with Lina Inverse from Slayers, then went with Li Sayoran from Cardcaptor Sakura, then Skuld from Aa! Megami-sama, and now Mink from Dragon Half.

I don't know what exactly prompted me to pick Mink, but suddenly, I wanted a Mink 'theme' (including sig, which, I've also been quite consistent in matching with my avatar). Maybe it was when I finally downloaded Taosu zo! Red Dragon by Matsumoto Yasunori...

When I'm home I play Starcraft and I love it. I'll probably change it back to the running man when I get back to Montana, tho. With the running man, I don't remember where I got it but just picked it because it was a small enough animated graphic and is still interesting.

I found mine on avatarmagic.com, and i just liked it.
Also i think it illustrates very well that feeling you get when the one person you want most walks into a room.

I was just searching through my saved pics folder on my work computer and ran across this pic. It was simple and sort of seemed sleep related, although it's an illustration of a popular torture device (used mainly in China on Falun Gong practitioners) called a "death board."

Basically what happens is you strap the individual down to a flat surface and leave them for a prolonged duration of time (usually weeks at a time), with their limbs stretched out and locked so that they cannot be moved. Sleeping and excreting are all done on the board, for this reason the victim is often stripped naked. The victim suffers not only from solitary confinement, but also the excruciating pain of feeling their whole body atrophying.
