Sometimes figuring out what job you want isn't that easy. I'm 16 and still don't know whether I really want to be an orthodontist or not.

See, I've been having these thoughts about acting recently. Although I haven't really done much of it in front of people before, I'd say I'm pretty good at method acting... From a personal point of view, anyways!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Most americans go through about 6 different job pursuits till they stick with one.

I would just learn about all of them, you have time.

14 & 16. Don't worry, whatever you'd choose now, chances are you will change your mind a few times (and you should, if you feel like it. You will change over the years). Furthermore, a quite large percentage of people end up doing something different from what they have studied, or only something marginally related. Enjoy your youth for now and don't worry too much about things that don't really matter (yet).

The most important thing to consider when you choose, though, is to do something that you really want to do.

Agreed with the above. You're young, don't worry about it too much, but that's not to say to avoid thinking about it. It's good to assess who you are and what you want from your life, and let everything you do cater to that dream - job, hobbies, etc. That is the best guideline I can give in so many words on the subject.

If you're interested, I used to want to be a graphic designer, then a professional rocker (lol, love the guitar), then a psychologist. I still wish to be a psychologist, but being realistic with myself I've decided to double major in Computer Sciences and Psychology to have something to get me through all my collegiate studies until I can be a psychologist. At least, that's the plan for now. And I'm 20. A lot changes in 4-6 years.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
