Symphony of Science

So a few months ago, a friend of mine turned me on to this video series, called the "Symphony of Science." Basically, the creator is a musical producer with a great interest in science. So what did he do? He found profound quotes in various scientific media (Cosmos, various documentaries, lectures, etc.), organized them under various themes, autotuned the voices, produced music, and made videos. Dude, I'm sorry... but these are HILARIOUS! I can't even unpause the videos without laughing.

I don't find them hilarious but I do find them pretty unentertaining.

The autotuning can be pretty amusing, but unentertaining? I listen to these songs almost religiously. They're fantastic.

Yes, I ran across them while watching The Atheist Experience a few months ago. At first, I found it hilarious. Now it's still a bit funny, I can't get over the nerdiness of the voices and autotuning, but if I get past the humor I can see it's a great thing in a way. I like their general message, and it wolud be nice to see the message popularized in the media and in other music. I have a thing for Richard Dawkins' voice, and I love the part in one of them when he says "there's real poetry in the real world; science is the poetry of reality." I heard where he originally said that in some lecture or debate too.

I'm not a big fan of auto-tuning. The music is alright, but the voices sound sooooooo funny. I can't help but laugh.

I've been planning on doing something similar to this. If I can ever find some decent musicians to work with who wanna play some post rock I'm gonna record some long extend GY!BE esque jams and layer audio from episodes of the Cosmos over it.

I just found out the drummer I wanted to work with moved back from new york. Now just to find a bass player.
