      What is that sound?

      In the basement in 1 of the rooms in this house i keep hearing this thumping sound. I thought it was music from outside but i heard nothing around the house, i don't think the pipes can make this noise. It sounds like music inside someones house but all you hear is a faint beat. It also sounds like someone knocking on the walls but i am not going that route. ANy idea what the sound could be? i can't hear it anywhere else in the house but that 1 room. It is the same beat for the past 30 minutes....it is kinda freaking me out because i have no idea wtf it is....

      Some things seem to echo, and are a pain to find. Like when smoke detectors beep because they need new batteries but you got like five of them, and you hadn't replaced the battery in like 10 years so you didn't even consider that it might be a smoke detector. So you look around the house for 20 minutes, until finally you figure out what that annoying beep was.

      Basically you just need to walk around and keep moving towards where you think it is getting louder. Eventually you will find out what is making the sound. If you find out what object its coming from then it is heck of a lot easier to figure out why it is making that sound.

      My guess too, lol

      What is the tempo of the bumping. Every second? Every few seconds? A few times a min? What's the sound? Like a beep? Or a bass bump (someone knocking on a door? someone hitting a wall?)

      My guesses: Furnace, AC unit, house/ pipes settling, rats(or some other animal in the walls)

      Got a video camera? Take some vid for us and post up, lol
