Honestly, the more sleep deprived you are, the easier it gets. The only motivation you need is to stay awake, then the rest just happens as a consequence.

Then, I set an alarm to go off every 10 minutes after I try to enter a WILD. So, if I fail and fall asleep, I'll wake up in 10 minutes to try again, and again etc. If I succeed, then obviously the WILD will only last 10 minutes, but still great tbh (can do it again anyway). This way, I can attempt about 10 times in one go if needed (never needed).

      @ Suena - *hugs*

I'm back from the funeral and reception.

Not many of you know that I'm a trained leader in the Boy Scouts. I have been part of scouting for the last 8 years, ever since my son joined back in 1st grade.

The assistant scoutmaster committed suicide this week.

He was a good friend. He left behind a great wife (also a good friend) and four children.

The suicide took everyone by surprise.

Tonight we remembered him, as a friend, as a scoutleader, as a father.

The Troop lined the halls as people entered the church. We wore our Class A uniforms.

We also wore very special neckerchiefs, made from the same material that kilts are typically made of (extra thick) and with the tartan of the McLaren family, one of the original founding families of Scouting. The slides on the neckerchiefs were hand made, unfinished bamboo, that represented the unfinished business left behind.

We entered the church behind the family, and performed a full flag ceremony.

The words spoken, the hymns sung, the whole event was a touching and beautiful way to remember someone who had touched many hundreds of lives. The church was full.

At the end the Troop presented three cases to the family, two with folded flags, and one with his Order of the Arrow sash.

We exited with dignity and went upstairs for the reception. Hugs and stories were shared all around.

I've cried a lot today. I'm still crying.

I'm glad I knew him. I'm glad I know his family.

      Farewell, my good friend.

Sorry for you loss Melanie. That's tough but it sounds like it was a very nice service for him. Suicides can be really hard to deal with, especially for the family. That really breaks my heart to hear it. I pray for them (my way of praying, anyway) and you, hun.

I used to assume she liked 'making a scene', and I saw it as pathetic. Then I realised it was due to my lack of understanding of her emotion, but mostly that it was caused by my 'poker face' lol, that is, me not directly showing my feelings to the girl. Regardless if I felt great with her, I'd never show it on the outside......Not deliberately, of course. I could do things with her that we both enjoyed, but then she'd get upset. Initially, I'd be like wtf is happening? Is this not good? Is she utterly insane? Again, me not expressing my feelings or communicating them to her caused this. I was keeping those good feelings to myself, I needed to share. And I didn't realise the importance of sharing/communicating the 'goodness' I felt.

In a relationship, people want to know that they are liked/loved, and that they're having a loving/nice effect on you.....validated and acknowledged....that their efforts are not in vain. Further relationships have been better with little crying....just simply because I shared and showed my affection. Expression goes a long way.

Yeah, I was pretty much a dickhead back then, but I've changed...... I'm even more of a dickhead now.

LoL jokes. That was roughly 8 years ago. Now I can actually pull off a smile here or there and all sorts. Real progression that is.

Naa, but seriously, you all understand what I mean. Gotta show and share that affection (usually a male problem) - not good enough just feeling it. ^_^

Lol'd at this. Coz I did exactly the same thing. A couple of times. With friends as well.
I also realised though, that the only reason for not sharing emotions is likely not loving the person. I often saw their emotions over things I saw as very trivial, as being fake just to create bullshit drama. Humans are addicted to drama, so I'm sure there's elements of that. But it's also just that obviously there wasn't a deeper connection and so I didn't feel the same things as they did.

      Don't blame yourself for it.

Melanie. Again, sorry about the loss of such a good man. I'm glad to hear the community rallied together though. That will help with the healing. I hope his family continues to get all the support they need.

My legs are still easily indented. I asked hubby about it and he said it's not a good thing. So then I Googled it and I found it's called "Pitting Edema" and can be caused by lots of different things. I'm only slightly concerned because my kidneys ached the other day.
BUT, I had a bunch of blood work done. If anything is wrong, I'm sure it will show up.
I also ate a LOT of Cheetos last night and this morning and those things are super salty.
I think it's cool more than anything

My rant is that I didn't get any exercise today. It's been raining all day and I couldn't make myself do anything inside I ended up sleeping from around 2:30-6PM which also makes me rant.
I'm also almost out of baby wipes Hubby will sleep until way after noon, so it will be a while before I can get any.

I really want a record player. I went shopping today and my friend bought a lot of records, which makes me want one more. I got a bunch of cd's so that should keep me happy for a while.

I plan on going back to the first page of this thread and learn zhaylin's life story. (another comment on how much she post here )

Well I found a rant. My dog is having puppies. This wouldn't be a problem if they were regular dogs, but these are 200 pound English mastiffs. Someone has to constantly be outside with the mom and the puppies to make sure she doesn't lay on them. I hate sleeping out in the cold but I need the money. I refuse to watch the both though! It's so gross. Last year we had some complications and a few died, that really sucks. She even had a puppy six hours after the other puppies, REALLY gross.

Not looking forward to the next few weeks.

I just wish I could adopt you temporarily, put you in a plastic bubble until you're completely healed in all ways. Then I would release you back into your life.

      Ophelia, That is so sweet!
I screw myself up though. I'm taking steps to change my habits, but it's a long, slow process. I should probably take certain things more seriously, though. Like, I can hardly believe I've not had a pap in over 10 years or so. Do I have a death wish? Nah, I guess in my mind, bad things wont happen so long as you don't know about them Ignorance is bliss in my world.

My rant is that I need to try to go to sleep. But I don't really want to. But part of getting my habits in check is going to bed at a decent hour.

Goodnight (hopefully lol) DV. Sweet dreams.

I just sneezed (the really intense and unpleasant kind) four times in a row, each less than a second apart from each other, and it was so debilitating that on the fourth one I bit my tongue. It's bleeding a little now.

I finally met my dream girl just now, and what the freak do I do? I don't take her advice when we're hiding from guards, and I decide to whistle randomly, making the guards more alert....and Eva gets freaking injured in the process!!

      I'm such a freaking idiot!

DAMN IT!!! There's no time for screwing around with a part of yourself by getting them killed...Link!!!!

      EDIT:

The dream was related to me possibly getting closer to the Akashic Records.....and I had someone guiding me, there's no doubt about it.....no doubt about it...my mind literally associated a lot of things from a few videos I watched related to it....

And I start to whistle to attract the guards....LOL...

I think you caught them red-handed, maybe they texted the wrong person...I'm sorry to hear that, ColdCrisis.

Nothing sucks more than to have your friends talk about who you go out with....that really is horrible, I hope things work out in you settling this.

      Don't blame yourself for it.
lol, that reminds me of this scene for some reason...

That guy is a great actor...or...

It's kind of sad that a person who doesn't care about anyone else other than herself gets lucky in life, and someone who is kind to others doesn't and has to suffer...

Looking at stuff on a "physical" level, it may seem that way. But I think many celebrities, for example, are just as happy if not less happy than your average joe. Wealth can certainly improve your quality of life if used properly, but giving a million dollars to a poor guy isn't going to increase his overall level of happiness.

Also, we all suffer. It's part of life. There are ways to lessen suffering and even prevent some of it, but in the end... suffering is what allows us to grow and learn.
