So first. So I'm in boyscouts, and we got a new scoutmaster a few years ago. He has been awesome, he has put so much time, money and effort into our troop; he really transformed it! For a while, the committee has been giving him problems because they have personal issues with him (because the committee tries to run the show, and no one likes them). But as of yesterday, they "impeached" him from his position as scoutmaster. Their reasoning, him (along with 4 other adults) allowed us (the kids) to go out in Times Square, without adults, in groups of 4. A bunch of the little kids moms complained about the safety. First, the little kids stayed with an adult. Second, if you don't want your kid to be led by other boys, and be independent and mature, DON'T PUT HIM IN BOY SCOUTS. Another reason is, the scoutmaster "turned the kids against the committee." All he did was inform us that the committee was not giving us the amount of money we wanted for a trip, the money that WE worked hard to fund raise. It's not like the moneys not there, we have a VERY large amount of money stored away for the troop. The point is, I worked to get that money, it's OUR money, let us use it, it's the reason we fund raise. And last of all, none of us (kids) were informed of the scoutmaster being "fired." They always pin "boy run troop" on us whenever they want us to get work done, and now they just go ahead and make this decision without giving us any sort of say!? Now I just feel like, even if I tell them how I feel, they won't care at all, I'm "just a kid." I feel powerless. The troop will really be different without him, he BOUGHT a BUS so we could go places without having to pile into multiple cars. He put so much into it for us kids, and the committee took him out because of THEIR problems, it's shameful. PHEW, had to get that out.
