I understand what you're saying, Yuppie. I've gone through periods of that myself. The general guide for therapy and/or meds is "Do these behaviors interfere with your quality of life?" If yes, then seek help. If no, then it's probably just a quark and there's nothing really wrong with quarks.

Rant: I am EXTRA SUPER sleepy today.
Rant: This large bandage is itching me to death.

Rave: My pain is finally at a very tolerable 4.

rant: I keep dropping off into micro sleeps with dreams

I’m just my own worse enemy. I really don’t have anything I should be down about, all my needs are met, I’m in a position where I am actually financially stable, working a good job. For for some reason I still manage to feel depressed all the time. It’s getting to the point where my motivation is so low I can’t even get every day task accomplished. I’m usually organized and neat, but lately I’ve been a slob. I’m still showing up to work every day but just barely. Showing up late usually isn’t a trait that I have.

I feel the need to go to school and accomplish something with my life. But I have no earthly idea on what I want to do. And I know my motivation is so low right now that I will probably just flunk out. So that will be time and money wasted, and I’ll probabaly just get more depressed. I don’t know what to do with myself. And I feel like I’m going no where.

      /End of my whining

Dakotahnok, in my experience, it is human nature to never be satisfied. I think it's some sort of evolutionary mechanism. If we stop striving for things then we grow stagnant and do not adapt and reach our full potential. Also, from a more existential point of view I don't think it really makes sense to ever be content or satisfied. No one really has any idea what they're doing or why they're here, and so, it's difficult to just kind of go 'okay, I'm happy now, forever...' whenever you reach some sort of milestone. It's like when people end of becoming very rich but are paradoxically super unhappy. The problem in my opinion is that having money solves all of your problems, and without problems, you're not really a person at all. You have nothing to do. What I'm trying to say is that being unsatisfied is part of the human condition, both in terms of the way you're wired, and on a more personal spiritual level. The caveat to all of this is to make sure you can identify the difference between having clinical depression and experiencing typical existential troubles. If you haven't experienced this sort of feeling before then it's likely that what is manifesting is existential dissatisfaction rather than tangible medical depression, but I would recommend consulting a doctor just so that you can eliminate the possibility and be certain about what you're dealing with. My next suggestion to you would be to do some soul searching and try and discover what is truly important to you. In my experience, on the surface level there is an array of things that 'matter' to you, but when you really put some thought into it, in reality there is likely far less that fundamentally deserves your attention and passion. The idea is that if you know what makes you happy (and there's bound to be something) then you should generally be able to ward off the feelings you're experiencing in the future. Overall I think that the most valuable thing for you to know is that everyone feels like you do, and even though you feel isolated at the moment, it's something that everyone deals with. You just don't hear about it because people typically don't address the issue, they just let it fester inside them and never talk about it. Don't do that. The truth of the matter is that you will feel what you're feeling repeatedly throughout your life, and there isn't a complete cure, you can only stave the feeling off by trying to rationalise your trajectory in life to yourself, and making sure you're fulfilled by your values. Unfortunately, what you're going through is inherent to life.

IC. I care. Hope your tooth is feeling better today.

Dakotah, haven't seen you in ages. Sorry you're feeling blue. I second a lot of what Yuppie said. Only, I'm more optimistic about ones ability to be content with life I hope you find your path or some peace soon.

Rant: Yeah, pot still isn't for me. I finished nearly an entire joint but didn't feel it until I stood up (other than an instant migraine, that is, as well as some tachycardia). Then it was like I was drunk. I was MASSIVELY unsteady on my feet and I felt like barfing everywhere. Then I started feeling a little paranoid but I don't know how much was from that, from pain, and from sleep deprivation. I only have 1 Percocet left. Sleeping is still the hardest, so I'm going to save it for bedtime. HOPEFULLY, my pain is low enough that the Hydros or basic Tylenol can carry me. There will be no more pot for me

Rave: All in all, though, I'm doing fairly well.
Rant: BUT- my arm still feels like it's ready to pop and the bandage is still itching me to death. I'm afraid to do the stretches because it feels like my muscle has been cut in half and I'm terrified of pulling something, popping the stitches or doing something else.
I have been stretching the arm out though. I just manually carry the lower arm to where it can rest pulled out.

Interesting: It occurred to me yesterday that my massive bruises (save one) disappeared after the surgery. Did the Dr clean the injury somehow? It's weird but I'm not complaining

Rant: I'm having adrenaline surges today. With my schedule and diet being all over the place, my meds have gotten out of whack.
HOPEFULLY, things will continue to steadily improve

Rant: My tastebuds are going through something. Almost all of my ejuices taste extra nasty.

      **EDIT**
Humorous/Sad: I watched an American Idol audition. The contestant and one of the judges kept saying "Wig". After the video, I googled what the heck WIG means lol... and from there, I read about "stan" which linked to an explanation of that word. Then I watched the Long Version of the song "Stan". I don't like these feels
I've always loved Dido. Maybe her haunting melody did me in... or perhaps it was the story in Eminems rap; but good googally, I am done lol
I blame my injury for turning me into a big baby.

"I could no longer tolerate the itching so I removed the bandage 1 day early. That's an impressive incision. I thought it would be much smaller for some reason. I'm supposed to let it breathe from here on out."
      Incision.jpg

My vasovagal has been threatening to flair since I removed the bandage. I pulled off some of the tape covering the incision when I removed the bandage. The stitch is intact though. As I removed the bandage, I saw it was pulling the tape, so I carefully pulled the tape off so it wouldn't come off. I stuck a little portion back onto my skin. Easy Peasy. But my imagination keeps playing a version where that didn't happen, the tape comes off, the stitches rip and I start bleeding Just typing all this is making my blood pressure drop
What the heck, Brain? That didn't happen. You KNOW that didn't happen! So knock off trying to make me sick

Other than all tht weirdness, I feel a trillion times better with that bandage off!!!!!!!!!

I fell asleep quickly last night. I ended up on my side and woke in agonizing pain. I decided to take some meds, so I got a Sprite out of the fridge, laid back down and quickly fell back to sleep for a couple more hours lol. I was still hurting a bit, so I ate a poptart (in bed) and took a Hydro and a Tylenol. Removed the bandage. And now I'm at my desk about to play some Roblox.

Humorous: My forearm aches a lot. I'm getting the purple bruises back there Playing games hurts because of the pressure. I was trying to think of something I could use to pad my forearm and remembered getting some e-juice in the mail. It comes in a bubble-wrap encased envelope. I'm using that and it's perfect. I'm just wishing I hadn't popped some of the bubbles when it first came in

Today was the first day of taking my Modafinil (Provigil) and my face is tingly with my tell-tell anxiety symptoms (a.k.a. my "adrenaline surges"). And I started by breaking the pill in half. I'm glad I did so or I'd be beside myself right now!!
Hopefully, the side effect will ease up as I acclimate to it.

But I doubt that's going to be the case. My brain doesn't does go "Oh hey, I'm fine. I'm obviously not dying so I can knock off the surges." Instead it goes. "Ok, I'm not dying. I KNOW I'm not dying, but, you know... I'm going to hold these feelings in anyhow and MULTIPLY them every. single. day until you end this thing I don't like. And you must avoid it for the rest of your life because I NEVER forget and I'll just keep multiplying the negative feels until you die. "

My brain hates me that way. I don't understand it. I despise it. I can't talk or breathe or meditate myself through or out of it.
But I'll keep trying But good GOD how it annoys and downright INFURIATES me.

Other thn that, I slept like crap. My arm decided to send arthritic pangs when I laid down. I tossed and shifted; elevated, cushioned- finally just passed out when the sleeping meds and Hydro kicked in. Woke up at 9, with my neck threatening to fall off and the same occasional pangs.
I had absolutely disturbing dreams (sex with someone totally inappropriate and in no way a reflection of any secret desire- and then kittens being accidentally squished and panic, anger, sadness within the household ).

The golf ball sized lump is still inmy arm. Called the Dr's nurse about it and it's *probably* just typical swelling. Probably.
I still have the rash and dry skin from the bandage, but that hardly bothers me at all now that the bandage is actually OFF lol

My room's a mess. I still have to do laundry. I'm broke until the girls pay me back $20. on Friday (IF their friend comes through).

BUT... Rave... I'm sharing a steak with hubby tonight from our favorite local place.
Rave: I'm still loving Roblox, sillilly enough. And I still haven't watched all of CSI on Hulu yet (getting REALLY close to the end though). AND my e-juice is back to tasting great THANKFULLY (as well as unfortunately... I was using juices I normally don't like but now they're back to being shoved in a corner )

I hope everyone out in DV is having a better day than me

I mean that people at home don't care, Zhaylin.
So, I ended up being violently sick. Oh, yay for me! The memory of the past couple of days just makes me wince in pain and seasick, again. Plus, it was 100000 degrees with a broken AC? It was no fun

I hope you feel better by now, IC.. or, if not, that you're getting some sympathy and help at home

Night before last, I slept WONDERFULLY. I finally figured out how to perfectly place my pillows.
Last night, not so much. I didn't fall asleep until 6AM today and then I was awake at 9 Most of that was from bad time choices (too many shows; too much gaming) and poor decision making (I did laundry... ad even though I had my daughter carry my basket to the machine, I still over-did it and hurt myself). I don't think my non-stop gaming is helping the healing process either.

So, I am exhausted today... and my arm aches... and I have a migraine
I'm about to take some BP meds, so that will probably knock out the headache.

Rave: hubby and I went to the big city to have lunch with his daughter. Our former favorite restaurant has gone to pot though. We waited 30 minutes and they still hadn't taken our order, so we paid for our drinks and left. Heard gossip on the way out that the only guy working had actually quit last week because he hadn't been paid... but then today, nearly everyone else quit for the same reason, so they called the one guy back.
We ended up going to a smaller Indian restaurant. The food was actually better than our former fave... but egad was it sweltering in there.
I had a bowl of ice cream and 2 pieces of bread Indian is their thing, but it was still good company and Bollywood was on TV

I need to play with the Provigil some. It surprised me. The surges went away after a few hours. I've been getting nasty headaches though. At one point, though, my BP was 148/104. NOT good. Taking the BP med seemed to knock the headache out
But yesterday, I took an entire Provigil and I had no headache at all. So I need to play around and try to find the reasons and variables etc.

I hope to stay awake until tonight and then just pass out.

Oh yeah... RANT!!!!: My iPad is now a brick. It keeps saying the battery is dead even though it's plugged into the wall. Nothing's wrong with the outlet or cord.
Apple needs to hurry up and release the next one

In the meantime, I need to find a way to reduce the humidity in my room. I'm fairly certain it had to have played a role in my devices demise.

I had a dream that we were at a spot designed for a virtual reality lucid dreaming spa but, Zhaylin, you were a mastermind who was brainwashing patrons of the forum. In the dream, we can to plug into the system and you can upload or download information. No one was safe, even the staff who you turned into man-eating, zombie-like drones.

This is what happens when I'm are not feeling good with a bloody toothache.

Is your iPad old? I've heard that they do that when they are older.

      heheh, go evil Me
And yeah, pain can cause some seriously weird dreams :/

That's the thing, my iPad is only 4 years old. My hubby has the Gen 1 iPad and his still works perfectly. Of course, he only uses his every now and again and then it's podcasts and stuff. I used mine 2-6 hours every day for those 4 years

Rave: I managed to stay awake, but now I'm gonna go crash. Hopefully hard... as in nearly dead I need some major zzz's.

Gee, thanks IC. You infected me with your weird dreams.
I actually dreamed of Roblox Meep City I was in my game house and people kept showing up and I was confused because I have my settings set so that only friends can enter. But then I was trying to keep everyone entertained and fed. I got a drink out of the fridge. It was in a bottle that looked like it was for Maple Syrup and it read "shake me". I told my guests I had no idea if it was any good and someone said it tasted like Coffee. Then everyone was on my dance pad having fun and I woke up.

That's quite the change from my usual zombie/builder/mining dreams.

Rave: I actually fell asleep fairly fast last night. My CPAP seemed clogged though. No idea what's going on with that. I've not been using it much at all since my break because it's just too much of a hassle and too much annoyance on top of it all.
I tried waking at 6AM.. fell back to sleep and tried waking up at 8... fell back to sleep until 9:30 which is when I had the Roblox dream.
So, I got in at least 8 hours of sleep.

Meh: I kept waking up because my shoulder was hurting and it's still bugging me. Took a couple Tylenol after breakfast, so hopefully that will help some.

Rant: I have to go shopping today. Everyone and their uncle will be shopping today because of the holiday. I'm going to try to go earlier in the day, but I think it will be worse then...

RANT: I cannot wake up for anything today. I even took an entire Provigil
I think I fell asleep before 2AM and was up at 10. That's plenty of time. I feel as though I've not slept in days though. I keep conking out at my computer.
I guess I could just go take a nap. Nothing else is going on.

I never did go to the store for us last night. Hubby ended up dragging me out with him before noon. The crowds put me off for the rest of the day So, I do have to do that at some point today.

My room is 79 degrees yet I'm chilled. Maybe I'm coming down with something :/

"Just got back from the Dr's. Found out he put a plate and 10 screws in my arm to try to hold everything together :O There's still some separation of the bones, though, so I go back for another X-ray in 2 weeks instead of a month.

I'm also starting physical therapy next week. 3 times a week. But their only doing passive exercises to start. I'm still supposed to wear my sling (even while sleeping).

      What a mess!"

Good googally! The only time I wear my sling now is if my arm is hurting or if I'm up and away from my desk. The PA said it was okay to not rely on it while I'm gaming, which is a relief. But there's no way I can sleep in it. My elbow screams out in pain when I keep it confined for too long. Maybe physical therapy will help with that?

And my hubby is so vain it's silly. I took the rest of the tape off my arm yesterday because it was bugging me too much. He saw my arm and exclaimed at the scar. He told me to ask the Dr today about recommendations to reduce the scarring.
I'm proud of the scar. I like scars But he's going to spend c $30. on some cream for me to use

I'm worried about the co-pay for PT. Last time I went there, for my knee, it was going to cost something 1k $'s up front so I didn't pursue it. This is more critical than a bum knee, though, so I really should have it. People swear by PT. I'm more like, meh... why spend all that money on exercises I can find on YouTube

Rant: I'm still excessively sleepy despite the Provigil. I see the Sleep people later this month to get fitted for a new mask for my CPAP. I've not been using the CPAP because I really don't want to deal with migraines on top of all of this.

Blah. Other than that, it's a nice quiet, somewhat stormy day. If only it will rain and cancel out some of this excessive heat!!! (thunder claps but no rain yet).
Humorous/Rant: I have spent way too much money on Roblox

Had a dream about attending a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" thing with my friend Ethan at some small pub in England and I recall doing the "Time Warp" with people from the movie. Then all of the sudden Rowan Atkinson appeared out of nowhere, walked up to me and started to pull my ears. This is when I yelled at him to stop in a New York/ New Jersey accent, "Don't touch my ears!! If you don't, I will go gangster Chilli Palmer on your ass!!"

Also, OpheliaBlue and Tropical heatwave were in my dream too. I remember that OpheliaBlue and Chief Ramsey got into a Food fight while Tropical gave me some movie theater candy in a white van outside of Duds & Suds.
Rant: Oh yeah, I have a headache, head my head on something hard.

What a dream, IC!! Hope you're head feels better by now.

Humorous: My son asked something about taking a helicopter from CA to Hawaii. I told him I didn't think they could fly that far. Ended up googling it and what an interesting thread I stumbled across! https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb...d.php?t=564823

I also googled if lawn grass is a vegetable (Because I asked my son if lettuce is a vegetable and he said yes, to which I replied I think of lettuce as grass, so is grass a veggie ) Turned out to be an interested search as well.

Rant: VERY tired. I was just about to give up on sleep at 6:30 this morning... then fell asleep only to be awakened by my hubby at 10:30 to tell me to come in for my allergy shot.
My arm is aching a lot today too.
And my son and hubby are sending me out for dinner later.

Rave: BUT, dinner is for hubby and I is going to be grilled salmon over angel hair pasta
So, until 6:15, I'm just wasting time and trying to decide whether or not I'm hot, cold or comfy

RAVE: Thank goodness, the rain has finally arrived and brought lower temps with it
My room is a comfy 75 with 69% humidity.

Rant: It's 8:10PM and I'm just now starting to feel my Provigil kick in (I took it at around noon).
... which has led to more internet searches. I was told that I likely have gastroparesis which means the contents of my stomach move and empty more slowly than normal. I wondered if that could effect medications as well. Turns out, it can.
Which might explain why 1/2 a dose effected me so harshly (rise in BP whereas a full dose hasn't done so).
SO!- I need to either take Provigil at bed time or take 1/2 with breakfast along with BP meds. I'll have to play around with both of those to see which is best for me.

BUT... why do Seroquel and Benadryl seem to work faster? Are the coatings different or am I off on my theory? And would it be safe to mix an upper with a "downer" at bedtime?

      Blah.

Rave: Tylenol is still getting me through the discomfort of my arm.
Rant: I am worried that I've been using it too much and disrupting healing. The sling just kills my elbow. I don't know why though. When I'm at my desk, my arm rests on it just as it does in the sling (same height etc). Maybe it's the angle- in the sling, my arm is near my belly, whereas, at my desk, my arms are forward facing. ??? Maybe it's because I move my arm more than I realize when it's free of the sling?
I can live with some disability and pain. I REALLY don't want to have to have another surgery though- or worse, a shoulder replacement

Gah! I am now feeling physically sleepy but mentally energized

Rave: Picked up a go pro 6 today. (Basically the state of the art action camera at the moment). They retail for around $700 in Australia. I saw one listed on the Facebook marketplace for $400, and I asked the guy if he would sell it to me for $350. It's brand new, and when I asked him why he was selling it he said he planned to go on vacation but he had to cancel abruptly, and so he had no immediate use for the camera. I was a little suspicious that it was simply stolen on account of what a good price it was, so I asked him to produce the receipt, which he did, and it all turned out to in fact be rather legitimate. So, I went and picked it up today. It's all working well and everything, I'm super stoked with it. (SUCH a good deal, got it for brand new for half the retail price!). I'm planning on using it to film motorcycle footage. I will post some footage for you guys very soon, but at the moment I've imposed a rule on myself that I am not allowed to film on it until I begin work on my university assignment, as I have been procrastinating far too much recently.

      So many great Raves
I'm jealous of your bird, IC. Mine's an angry bird. He doesn't do anything cool lol. But he's still endearing. Any time I leave my room, he "flock calls" to me. And he grinds his beak in contentment and whistles with me (and shrieks if I get the whistle wrong ) But when I put my hand into his cage to change his water or to clean it, he hisses at me and shrieks like he's being killed. And if I try to touch him, he'll bite and draw blood. I still love him though He's a cockatiel and I've had him for nearly a decade.
Grats regarding your drawings/photos! Sounds like a great opportunity!

Yuppie, GREAT find!! I hope you get some amazing footage. Great picture!

Rave: I'm slowly getting some mobility back. PT said the break is in a really weird place so I have to strengthen the muscles near my shoulder blade without engaging the muscles in my upper arm (that muscle can place too much pressure and interference on the broken bone as it heals).

Rant: After yesterday's PT, I feel a weird clicking in my upper arm muscle. I am very worried about hindering or making my healing worse. I can't wait for my next X-ray and Dr appointment.

Rave: I am finally starting to sleep fairly well. I've gotten somewhat used to sleeping on my back. The last couple of days, I've even managed to sleep on my side (good side lol) some. I've always laughed at myself for sleeping the way I do. I either somewhat contort and have an arm under my neck sort of like a "choke hold", or I tuck my hands under my face like a little kid.
But there's actually a smart reason for doing so which I was doing intuitively. When I've tried sleeping on my side previously, I've had to keep my arms down near my stomach... and I feel suffocated. Having my arms up, I guess, opens the diaphram for easier breathing.

Rave: Marea is still alive. I was expecting her to die, many times, for a few months now. Her growth has been greatly hampered and she's still sickly with icky eyes and congestion. She's smaller than the new kitten who was born a month+ after her. And speaking of that kitten... Ash has decided that she loves him and is his mother. She nurses him and runs off his bio mom, Mew. All of them are old enough and healthy enough for worming meds. I'll tackle that next week.

Rave: Fly season is mostly over, so I can take down my mosquito net.

Amazement: We have Jurasic sized dandelions growing in our yard. I've never seen them that big before.
      TallDandelions.jpg
Some of the driveway looks like it has snow on it because the seeds are so thick and plentiful.

I hope everyone is staying safe (or is far away from) the incoming hurricane.

I hope you're feeling better and better each day, Zhaylin. I got my haircut today and seeing you posted a picture of your new haircut recently I will also post mine. Unfortunately I'm beginning to bald. My father is bald and my mother had a hair transplant when she was younger to address her thinning hair, so I have no hope of retaining my hair considering hair loss runs in both sides of my family. I don't really mind too much, it doesn't particularly bother me. However having said that, I would have liked to have kept decent hair until I turned around 25 or so. 21 is a bit too young to have a receding hair line for my liking, but I suppose it is what it is. Once I am noticeably balding I will simply shave all my hair off. I read a study that suggests women find men who are bald more attractive than men who attempt to keep their hair once they have entered the late stages of balding. I think I might look a little strange bald, my ears are larger than average which might be emphasised by a bald head, and also my skin tone is darker than usual, so the contrast between a white shaved head may also look weird. I'm sure a cure to hair loss will be introduced once it's too late

What a handsome fellow! Great picture
When/if you do shave your head, I'd imagine it would tan to match the rest of you lol. I see nothing wrong with your ears at all.
Thinning hair is on my moms side.... but what cause? I know, for my grandmother, most if not all of her hair loss was due to her diabetes. My mom had something wrong with her scalp and had a biopsy or something done and she says her hair never did grow properly after that. And she is now diabetic.
I'd be completely happy being shaven- not bald. Maybe bald, lol, I just don't know. But I say that knowing full well I could grow my hair back if I changed my mind.

Humorous: I guilt my kids whenever they kill bugs. I'd much rather they be moved outside. My daughter-in-law always goes into a long, clinical sob story about how terrified she is of spiders. Woman, please. If you were THAT terrified, you would NOT be able to set foot in this house let alone live here. While spending some time on the toilet, the other day, I counted 22 spiders just on and around the bathtub Of course, most of them were spiderlings and everyone in the household, other than me, are blind as bats so it IS possible they just don't see them... but I think they just can't be bothered with the rescuing and blame phobias to feel better about themselves.

RANT: Paula's car died on the way home from work last night. She managed to get it home at 10mph and barely functioning breaks and gas and a terrifying shimmy. Now she's at the dealership trying to figure out where to go from here. She only owed $800. I told her it's better the car died now than AFTER she paid if off. But it's still immensely frustrating for everyone. There's no way I can taxi them... not with my PT schedule and my trillion Dr's visits now-a-days. And they have nothing in savings to take it to a mechanic..
She's been there since 8AM. It's now 11:00 (the place didn't even open until 9 though lol)

Rant: I only got an hours worth of sleep. I passed out at around 5:30 and woke at 6:30 because I rolled over wrong and I felt a muscle in my broken arm POP as if it was a joint.
I REALLY hope I'm getting better, but I honestly have my doubts lol. I CAN move more now though, which is a huge RAVE (I can actually pull my covers up and wrap a towel around myself... ahhh, the little things

Humorous: At PT, a different lady hooked my up to the TENS machine. Just just cranked it right up and I said when too late. For 10 minutes, I sat there and my body obviously constricted (?) with each jolt as if in contractions. Wednesday's lady walked by and I asked her if that was normal and she said, "no, that's too high. We want your muscles to relax, not work them out!" It wasn't the least bit painful, just weird.

Nice video! The roads looked, mostly, clear but I can imagine it's bumper to bumper sometimes!

Paula almost did get a motorcycle once. Actually, I think she did buy one for a time but it didn't get much if any use. She's too short for most bikes lol (4'9"-ish)
She was at the dealership, haggling, until 12:30 But, she came home in a Grand Cherokee. It's a 2004 model. Older than her Explorer was but in excellent condition none-the-less. The dealership has to fix a broken taillight tomorrow, though, and they might give her an oil change as well.
She's satisfied with the trade, even though her payments have extended to 28 months

Sad/funny confession time. We've lived here for some 17-18 years. My son took me up on my "offer" to clean the kitchen. I paid $20. for the initial cleaning and I'm going to pay $10. a week for daily upkeep so it doesn't become disgusting again.
He took down the (short/mostly decorative) curtain above the sink to wash it and scrub the wall. It was then that we realized there are blinds for the windows. The window also has the factory sticker still on it.
So... for 17-18 years that curtain had never been washed, nor had the window been cleaned.
My goodness... no wonder this place is falling apart.

Rant: I have to go to the store tonight for a big shopping trip for hubby. The kids also need things, and I'm out of Coke, so I'm not grumbling TOO much

Other than that, all is quiet.
I've finally warmed up and woken up. I've been up since 9:30 and even though it's 79 degrees in my room, I was freezing until about an hour ago. I'm not running a fever or anything.

Rant-ish: Two spots along my incision are red and inflamed. I can't tell if they're warm to the touch though. All of my skin is firecracker hot (it runs that way). I wash it, with soap, when I shower. Then I put Mederma (scar reduction cream) and Cocoa Butter on it throughout the day, wiping it with alcohol babywipes between applications. I don't know why it's becoming an issue now that it's 98% healed.

Rant: I'm impatient to heal. In PT, my arm can be moved outwards just fine (by and large). But it wont go straight up. My entire arm and muscle hitches upwards. The joint refuses to flex that way. But the joint is okay, so what the heck?!
Yesterday, I was speaking with the girls outside my room. They caught me coming out of the restroom, so I wasn't planning on being up and away from my desk (I wear my sling if I am). I tend to stand military style with my hands clasped behind my back. Out of habit, I tried doing just that and EGAD!- not a good idea lol. Apparently, my arm doesn't want to move that way either

I just want the Dr to tell me the bone is healed. Once it is, I'm going to work the heck out of my joint. Strength isn't as important to me as my flexibility is. I NEED my flexibility back... THEN I can strengthen it. But I'm afraid of doing too much until I hear that.
And... well... PT has made me worried. One of the therapists told me that when a plate is put in place it often-times stops bone regrowth and useful calluses from forming. Does that mean the bone will never fully heal? Was surgery a good idea?

      BAH!
