Headaches can have many causes. I, for example, will get a headache during the night, if the bedroom is too warm. And that kind of headache is not lessened by paracetamol or other such over-the-counter medications.

I also get headaches if I have not had caffeine for two days. So I guess I'm an addict.

By the way, headaches can be caused both by constriction of blood vessels, and widening of the same.

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

Could be that coffee is possibly safer not to mention easier/cheaper to try, versus taking some medication that would raise blood pressure.

Is there any specific reason you'd rather not be having coffee, even for a short time? I imagine he'd just like you to try it so as to help diagnose if the issue is caused by blood pressure being too low or not.
Don't judge me, but the reason I stopped drinking coffee is because my dream guides recommended it. Mostly because they said it's got a lot of toxins in it, and if I was interested in reducing my lead exposure, to stop drinking so much coffee (btw, I use k-cups, so it's already pre-ground up).

My "mother" guide said "tea helps". I started drinking green tea, sencha imported from Japan - the good stuff, after reading the wonderful health benefits. A week ago I did have a cup of coffee, I figured, what the heck? I do love the taste and my doctor recommended it. That night my dream guides AGAIN told me to stop drinking it.

I usually follow what they say, especially my old woman guide. She's spot on. ...Like I said, don't judge me, I know it's a little weird and unconventional.. but, I'd rather have an unconventional life than a boring one?

Edit: I got a haircut today. First one in a year? Over a year? At least, that wasn't done by my mom. It's a lot shorter now.

Well, it's up to you after all and don't worry, I won't judge you for it.

I'll just suggest that there are other substitutes for a caffeine intake you could try such as; drinking black blends of tea, such as Assam or Earl/Lady Grey, they come to mind quickest for me; Cola of some kind, though I'm not sure how much caffeine actually is in it; and Guarana-based drinks (or fruits) too.

But whether these are convenient for you to try or not is another thing, of course. Guarana in particular is likely to depend on where you live in the world I'd guess. Lastly, I wouldn't recommend trying a caffeine supplement unless it was with guidance by a doctor. You can overdose (lethally) on caffeine, but it's highly unlikely when it's coming from food and drinks as you'd need to be having several dozen drinks a day, while by comparison in supplement form it's easy to take too much by accident.

I feel like I always come with a warning label attached. And in all seriousness, just do what you feel is right, since you know your body best.

Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing. It was just very weird and unpleasant for me because I never ever get headaches. But I'm glad it's over. I somehow suspect it's connected to the allergy attacks.

RANT: So, Today, Fell asleep on a flat board that was laying on something. Had a dream about being in an elementary school. Then I was jolted awake, rolled to my right, and all almost fell off it. kind of scratched up my arm. I fell asleep despite the loud noises of the nail gun, air compressor, and our neighbor's dog that was barking. AHHH! the sounds of spring At least, it was nice out.

Oh, and cap locks are still STUCK!

Had another code red today. I was assisting with testing, so I was with a group of kids I didn't know in a different room. I heard it all break down on the radio before they announced. Wow, it was freaking scary. People shouting "Get in the room, RIGHT NOW." on the radio and stuff. Then, they called it a moment later, I had already gotten my kids in this little side room. It was pitch black. We had to sit there for close to an hour. At one point, in the room next door (empty), the emergency lights flickered on and off a few times. The kids got real quiet. I could feel adrenaline flooding my body when that happened. But we are ok. Apparently, another shooting (with a rifle) in the next door trailer park. Last time we had one, it was a double shooting in the same trailer park.

I got my first shot of the Moderna vaccine on Friday. It kicked my butt. My arm felt like it was on fire, my whole body ached, got chills, and super tired. If that's the first one, what's the second one going to be like? :/ But still, glad to be almost vaccinated.

My friend and co-teacher at school, her uncle just died from a reaction to the J&J vaccine. He got it, they made him wait 2 hours for safety, then sent him home. The next day was very ill and went to the hospital where he died of a blood clot. They at first told him it was a reaction to the vaccine, then later backtracked after he died and said because 20 years ago he had a blood clot, that they couldn't record it as a J&J vaccine-related death. WTF.

This was the only vaccine being offered to teachers in my county *(through the school district anyways). I decided to skip it and go for Moderna through the Dept. of Health (long line, but, way worth it imo).

They had me subbing in the ASD unit today. I am their back up when the teacher is out. Mostly because I have some experience with my son and volunteering at the Palm Beach School for Autism. I love working in there and always wanted to work in a unit like that. I didn't realize the person in the unit (A PE teacher who was filling in) is leaving until a couple weeks ago when it was announced.

So after subbing in the unit for the morning, I approached the principal to let him know I'd be happy to take the unit next year if he needed someone. He told me he had just hired someone for it. Bummer! I also talked to him about keeping my classroom next year (I got my own room this year because of COVID; it used to be a small teacher planning room). He didn't seem to think it was a likely thing, which I expected (we've had this conversation several times before over the last three years). We're going to be very full next year due to many students being retained, and we're already bursting at the seems. But I had to ask. Unfortunately, being that I only teach half the day, and then co-teach the other half, usually us special ed teachers are relegated to "floating". That means we teach in other people's classroom while they're on planning break. It pretty much sucks big time.

However... when I mentioned again that's why I was asking about the ASD unit, because it would give me a classroom and I would be happy, he seemed to really consider it. He said he would talk to people and find out if it was possible. We'll see. It would be pretty awesome. I think it might depend on whether they hired an actual ASD teacher or just a teacher who's going to fill in for the year.

Anyways... this was a long post! But.. good news is that I feel like I really know what I want to do. I mean, I've always known it, but I somehow got stuck teaching science instead. Now, I'm looking at different university graduate programs for a master's in autism spectrum disorders/intellectual disabilities. If I get that, I could even run a severe unit (like the one I used to volunteer in) at the PBSFA. I really want to do that. I am ready to do this.

Rant: The guys (beloved friends) who hold the keys to opening up
our great project have been offsite and the key really should be in more hands
Those with lesser keys wait and again wait. stay with us in the blue and green. Given time the beloved friends will hand off needed keys

      Feeling pretty good.

For starters, got my 23 & me results. Only ONE alzheimer's gene (unlike my double recessive father), which means my risk is 31%, average is 10-11%. If I had two, my risk would be 60%. I can't tell you how relieving this is.

Also find it interesting that my DNA is 97.9% British Isles. 1% Scandanavian, and 1% Congolese. I was expecting more things, but, it is what it is. I can't complain.

I talked to the principal again today. I got so scared last night about taking over the unit that I asked to stay in science. Don't judge... what can I say. I am human. I felt like, I have it made right now. I have my curriculum all set up finally, next year will be a breeze. And I am support for half the day, so I can drive down to Target when I need to... I mean, for real, who can do that while working? I can. I know it's selfish, but, I think about things like that. My happiness does matter. The secret truth is that I worry I'll be isolated and lonely in the unit. The principal was cool with it, but oddly enough... later in the day, he called me over. He told me that next year they are going to have so many ASD students, they need to open a 2nd unit possibly. I told him I was still open to it, I just need some time to think about it. He said he would have an open discussion with me later. Wow, I feel so much better. I want to do it.. I am just a little scared and feeling rushed with the decision. Hopefully I will have the time to figure myself out.

I had something else to say, but... I can't remember.

You should take your time with big decisions. You're right, you are human and being scared of things is a survival instinct I suppose. Even when you are in a position to be a lot of help to others by making a major change to your own life, the upheaval of change might not be good for one reason or another and some part of you is probably considering this, especially with the way you describe having everything "ready" and basically being somewhat smooth right now.

It is important to think about yourself, there will always be others who need help too and I think one of the most shaping things I've heard and said myself in conversation at times is "help yourself before you help others". Come to think of it, the same is true even in situations involving accidents, isn't it?

The DNA thing is interesting. You look, at least based on the profile pictures you've had here, that you could be from around the same area as some people I know.

I just copied my dream journal onto Word. It is actually 288 pages long. All the dreams more or less were ones I found interesting. That is cool to have it all in one document.

That's a good idea. I should do this too at some point, though it would be convenient if DV would let you download your own DJ fully as a plain text file or something.

I do like keeping my DJ here on DV and it always ends up having a lot more detail than all my first notes that I write down on my phone since it's easier to do so. The only thing I don't like about both is that looking through DV or my phone to find something specific in my DJ is a bit difficult at times. In a document or text file I could probably just search for something much more quickly. Tags on DV are useful but a limit of ten isn't enough for those really detailed dreams.

Btw, Isn't a single DJ entry on the forum can hold up over 8,000,000 characters or words? I know I asked Spellbee once but, know can't remember.
Lately, though, I have next to Zero time to post in detail from some of those dreams that have.

I didn't sleep too well last night.

Completely exhausted, but had a great day today. Got together with my group of board game friends, and since we're all either vaccinated or half-vaccinated, we've been going to the local game store to play. I played for 8 hours straight today, at the shop and a friend's house . And we got together yesterday and played 4 hours. Wow, but it was so. Much. Fun. I can't describe how much fun it is.

Sad news though, one of my gamer friends died recently. He had cystic fibrosis, and I'm not sure if covid was involved. He used to run the game group that we played in back at the dojo, and then at the game shop. Very sad. He was only 36, the same age as me.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, @MoonageDaydream
I hope you've found better answers for your health woes and/or that Gabapentin is working out for you. I've taken 400mg of the stuff for leg pain for, gosh, probably 5-8 years now. It's too low and barely cuts the pain, but I don't want to increase it because I have a delicate balance between that and my Cymbalta. I ran out, though, a couple of months ago. The pharmacy kept failing to call in the refill and my daughter offered me her Lyrica.
My leg pain felt better, but it threw everything out of whack.
When I saw my p-doc, I told him that I switched it up and he said that was fine- that it does basically the same thing but Lyrica has more weight gain side effects and tends to be more expensive.
I'm back on my Gabapentin lol
I never noticed it do anything at all for my dreams.

@dakotahnok Sorry to let you down. I still suck lol. Or, rather, my friggin satellite internet sucks. I'm too cheap to get another cell plan. I'm just waiting for Elon's satellites to hit my area.

I'm one of those who won't get the vaccine. If something can go wrong, it does (I can't believe I still remember some smiley commands). But, I'm a homebody. I social distance when I'm out and wear a mask. I'm... ??? doubtful all of this will do anything meaningful in the long run- except for people who are especially at risk. I think it's just part of our lives now. (Though NOT the same), It's now a seasonal issue the CDC will try to get ahead of with vaccines much like the flu shot (which I've also never gotten).

I need to go pick up my eldest kid from work. He's getting his second shot right afterwards. He tries to guilt me and one of the others into getting it, but we're pretty stubborn. We're a mixed bag. 2 kids have gotten both shots, one refuses and I'm unsure about the other. I doubt she'll get it though. She's a bigger conspiracist than me

      **EDIT**
I hope your finger heals quickly HumbleDreamer.

I am getting emotional during my day and have no reason for it. I need a break. Rave: I am going alone to Vegas for a couple days. Will get a nice room and lounge by the pool and catch a show. That should help.

Thank you. I'm not taking it. I can live without it. Anyways, my back sciatica issues are almost nonexistent since I've been walking 2 1/2 miles every evening. I love it, plus it gives me time to listen to my audiobooks. My ear hasn't been bothering me in a while, either. I don't know why, but I'm not going to complain. Anyway, I hope your leg pain stays better.

I am exhausted. We've been testing all week. It's stressful. You can't make any mistakes without it being a big deal. Also, I've been testing all the kids in the ASD (autism) unit, since they don't have a certified teacher this year. I finally finished today. These kids are seriously cute and sweet, though, I have to say. Their "essays" that they have to write are adorable.
