British Isles (England, Scotland, Ireland)... You can delete a post within 24 hours of making it, after that you would have to ask a moderator (like sivason) to do it for you. It's no big deal, though.

You know, I think I was wrong. You can edit within 24 hours, but to delete you'd have to get a moderator (sivason).

No I haven't. That'd be pretty cool, though.

Yes! It's under the advanced editing button. Use it sparingly! This is because the forum has a community point system and when you delete a post from a thread, it subtracts the points from the owner of the thread.
If you are talking about the double posts in this thread, you are fine. Just be sure when you have something else to add to a post, you can just edit the post within 24 hours as Moonage had mentioned.
And like I said, the community is different than dream moods.

Humm, that sounds that just a forum glitch. This is a known issue. That happens every so often. If it does this again, you can just report it via the report button or report it to the staff.
In this case, don't edit your double posts as we have a bot that looks for them and automatically deletes them. If you edit them, the bot will not recognize it as a double post.

Principal called me in his office today. He said he's not going to put me in the second unit (another teacher is being moved there). He is going to keep me in ESE science, and he is giving me my own classroom! A small one, but I don't mind. I have been asking him for one for years, his answer has always been no because he doesn't have enough rooms to give to someone who only teaches 2-3 classes a day. Understandable, but trying to float in other people's rooms and also do experiments? Yeah, it's hard. And torture, as most of the teachers want you to leave their room spotless after your class.

Anyway.. I suspect he is keeping me science because I'm the only one certified to teach both ESE and science. He has 3 social studies ESE teachers, and one with experience working in a unit, so he is sending that that guy to do it. He told me that he is giving me the classroom because he knows that it's only a matter of time before I leave and go somewhere else, and he didn't want that to happen. Hahaha, I never said any such thing, but he can think what he wants.

It's going to be a great year next year, I know it.

Rant: I have poison Ivy and it's oozing on my arm!! Didn't sleep very well. When I did, I had a dream about being chased by a moose.

More good news. Yesterday the testing coordinator pulled me aside discreetly and offered me a summer position teaching summer school to the kids who failed. I would make my normal summer pay (not a full paycheck) PLUS $25 hourly wage... Ughhh it's so tempting. I don't even have to write the lessons. All I would be doing is essentially babysitting. But, it would mean having to get up around 6 am and working through the summer. Lucid dreaming would suffer if I did it. And I love my summers off. I think I am going to pass, but it is soo soo tempting.

The good thing is that she selected me, which really is an honor. I feel like I'm earning a good reputation, and that's what really makes me happy.

Rant:
My DJing in general has been kind of impacted since I'm usually feeling too tired on waking despite medication, making it mostly annoying to try and do recall on my phone in the morning. And besides that been having some on-going newer pain issues that don't seem to be related to my usual chronic pain stuff, but I feel it's being ignored a bit. From my experience, once you have a chronic pain issue, doctors will tend to just blame it for anything they can't figure out, like the kind of leg sciatica pain thing I had a while back (that hasn't quite gone away either). This is nothing new to me, it's just how things seem to be, doesn't make it any easier to deal with sometimes. It mostly just makes me lose faith in trying to get any sort of help sometimes.

Another frustration, around the time of the start of the pandemic, I thought to myself about how others might struggle with being restricted to their homes, something I've never really had an issue with, thinking "at least I'll be able to do some painting in my art room" and the irony is that because of our work stuff I just ended up not having room in there anymore... Mostly because it kind of became occupied by everything else we'd been doing and it just hasn't changed since then; there just isn't room to move the stuff elsewhere.

I think checking and posting on DV lately is one of the few things I've managed to keep up with recently. Kind of everything else has been a bit... lacking. Just struggling to motivate myself to do basic things too much of the time, or to keep up with things I was doing steadily only a couple of months ago. What's frustrating is that I feel not much is helpful lately even such as medication, talking or actually accomplishing something. It just seems like nothing positive is actually making a difference and I don't know why. Talking to my primary therapist is usually helpful but the last couple of times it doesn't seem to have actually made me change what I'm doing either. I've thought that maybe I'm depressed again but it's difficult to say since my mood is otherwise stable, just kind of listless.

I've been feeling a little strange lately, kind of like, existentially anxious I suppose.
This weird thing has been happening to me where I suddenly become very acutely aware of the fact that I exist. (I know it sounds silly).
I just start thinking about how bizarre and inexplicable it is that I exist, and I have to carry on through this life until I essentially die.
It's been kind of distracting to me, I keep thinking about it in cycles, and I'm worried it's going to give me a panic attack eventually.

Has anyone else ever experienced this before? Any advice?

Yes, I get a weird anxiousness about nothing other than existence. I don't really have advice other than to try and find things you enjoy to distract you.

This happens to me from time to time and I might have mentioned it somewhere at some point on the forum.

I'll be doing something completely banal and then sort of at the back of my head it feels like something switches and I sort of stop what I'm doing. I start thinking in the same way as you describe. I try to take the moment to think about other things in my life and about what I feel is important. Sometimes the moment just ends up passing and I'm back to doing whatever I was doing soon enough.

If you are feeling anxious because of it, then it may be the case that you have an urge to do something but you haven't figured out what yet; I mean like an urge to go for a walk, to make something, talk to someone specific, etc. In my opinion, anxiety is something that really tries to push us into some kind of action and it can be pretty disabling when it has no outlet. So my advice would be that in that moment, you think of something that you feel is important and do something with that feeling or commit to doing something about it later/soon.
