I thought this link was pretty interesting and worth sharing.
Rottweiler's are worth around 15K? Seriously? My uncle used to own one and I'm sure he didn't pay nearly that much!

Is it because they're a very pure strain of pedigree?
Are they more expensive in America? Brief searching found me some £800 Rottweiler puppies, and a fully grown female for £150.
I don't understand the price of dogs.
So THAT'S where my mop head went!
Well THAT particular dog might be $350,000(?)...but Tibetan Mastiffs are not that expensive. Same for the rest of the dogs. The article is...misleading? Maybe it should be most expensive dogs in the world, not most expensive dog breeds. You can get TM puppies for under $1,000. And last week someone offered me a Yorkie puppy for $200, so I know those prices are not right...
Yeah that's so wrong. Who pays even $1500 for a Maltese?
Maybe the site is using Indonesian dollars or something lol
I like how, except for the Akita, it could double as a list of the ugliest dogs >.<
Really? I think the Tibetan Mastiff's are beautiful.
Hm. I'm not sure. I think it may be about purebred's then, because msnbc can vouch for the expensiveness of a purebred Tibetan Mastiff.
I do hope most of those dogs aren't as expensive as some of these sites say though. I'd sure like to have some.Quote:
In that case, Cai Li and his wife must be brimming with confidence. Last November, the couple from the provincial capital of Xi’an forked over $600,000 for a purebred Tibetan mastiff called Yangtze River Number Two, and organized a fleet of twenty Mercedes-Benzes to bring the slobbery black-haired beast home.
I am the most expensive dog in the world.
Me too, as soon as I saw that Tibetan Mastiff I wanted to see one IRL.
Not really good to have them around here anyway I wouldn't think. For the same reason it's not good to have any of the breeds used for sled dogs anywhere outside of the snow.
They're clearly bred for cold climates, life would be horrible anywhere else, unless maybe if you shaved them.
