      I'm going skydiving

First off, I'm back. I'm going to start posting on this forum frequently again, and try to seriously dedicate myself to having lucid dreams for the first time since February.

Secondly, I'm going skydiving on August 13th for the first time ever. I've always secretly wanted to but have been afraid. Now I find I'm just not very afraid anymore, and have found the courage to book an appointment. Has anyone been or want to go?

It's not something I don't want to do, but I don't think I will go do it, not something I am interested in doing.
Good luck! Don't die, and tell me how it went when your done! My dad went skydiving long ago before I was born and he had to use his emergency chute cus something about primate one was crap and didn't open right

Yeah, they make horrible parachutes. Orangutangs are ok though, lots of loose hair.

Dianeva - I might be getting you confused with someone else, but was your previous name wolfbane? I think it was that. Or something bane.

I've definitely been wanting to go for the past 2 years now. A group of my buddies and I keep making plans to do so, but we never follow through. >_<

I definitely wanna do it before I graduate (in 1.5-2 years). And hell yea, I'll be terrified when I'm staring out the door of the plane, but as long as everything goes smoothly, it will definitely be lots of fun!

I'm not sure about you, but around here, you gotta go tandem before you go solo. So at least that provides a lot more comfort for me xD

No, this is the only screenname I've had on this site.

Yeah, definitely. The place I was looking at didn't even allow someone to jump solo if they hadn't jumped tandem before. To jump solo, you needed to have completed a training course. And a prerequisite for the training course was at least one tandem jump.

Tandem is better anyways because you get to go really high and enjoy the freefall. The first few solo jumps are at a much lower altitude and your chute is either rigged to open as soon as you jump out of the plane or an instructor jumps with you and opens your chute for you.

Plus it's not like you can just pull the chord and land wherever you please, there's a bit more to it than that.

I've gone skydiving in a few of my lucids...it felt as real as anything else I've done in the real world...so, at least on this site, I'll say that yes, I have gone skydiving. And I definitely want to go in real life, but just so that I can compare the two, and find out how accurate the sensations in the lucid skydiving were. I can already tell though, that it was probably completely accurate. Everything else has been.

I have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. Repeatedly. And it paled in comparison to my dreams.

Actually I'm going skydiving soon too. I'm definitely afraid but my motivation to do it is much stronger.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

You should post on this thread as your falling and take a picture.
"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"

I don't have the balls to go skydiving in real life but maybe I'll give it a try a few years from now. Anyway, I hope you have fun. =D

It was amazing. None of my mental preparations prepared me for what free-falling would be like. The scariest part was just having to jump out of the plane. I saw the couple of pairs of people who went before me go tumbling out from 12,500 feet... and it was scary to just make my way to the door and know I'm going over any second. Then the free-falling ... holy shit. It was so intense, indescribably so. I've never experienced anything like it. Maybe I'll post a bit more later. I did get a video done that's being mailed to me, maybe I'll post a link to it here when it arrives, if I put it online.

Been skydiving a bunch of times, exhilarating. The first few hundred feet of freefall feel really weird, but then you don't feel like you are falling anymore. Because once you hit terminal velocity, you stop accelerating, so your organs settle back down

I used to be too scared to even consider ever skydiving, but now that I've had a chance to think long and hard about life, I've decided I definitely want to do it. I feel like I'd just be robbing myself if I didn't. I'm gonna really have to push myself not to turn back at any possible point, but I know I'm going to just do it eventually.

I personally think bunjee jumping would be more scary. I have yet to find out
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

Going skydiving on my 18th with some friends, couple of months; can't wait as I've always loved heights.
Some info for those who are scared- you have a 35,000 greater chance of dying driving to the jump than the actual jump.

And reason prevails again. I love statistics like this, because they show how warped conventional logic can sometimes be.

I think the default music they add to those is Free falling by Tom Petty so make sure that doesn't happen. That song has degraded many a post-skydiving experience.
