Mayflow, I want to talk to your avi - I want to know if Reality Girls boobies are real?
Alcohol is gonna kill my liver.
O boy, I am playing with teenage boys, aren't I? But even then, give me something to work with. Some Plato, some Magi, some Shamanism, some Hinduism, some Buddhism, o fuck it, I will do it myself.
So one monk is talking to another and the other walks across the river to meditate on the discussion. She returns and the other monk walks across the river to meditate and also returns. Some who see this think they can walk on water too, but they keep falling in. They think the monks can walk on water and they cannot, but the only difference is that the monks know where the stones in the river are and how to use them as stepping stones. It's a metaphor, does any one of you teenage boys even know what a metaphor is for?
a metaphor is a statement that abstractly explains something without the words 'like' or 'as' almost like an analogy.
And Erii is a girl, appearantly 76 :/
:nono:
@ Erii, listen to the mind because knowledge is sacred. Seeing and caring is worthless if it is done in ignorance. Compassion becomes useless sympathy and just causes sorrows to increase if not solidified by wisdom.
Actually yes, quite a few of the people on this site are teenagers - the majority of them probably. Not me, but I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm they have, and I like to socialize with them a bit, even on senseless threads like this one. If I didn't enjoy it, I think I'd just stop posting on the thread instead of insulting everyone on it. Though I can understand why you'd be in a pissy mood just now after the way this thread has gone.
I don't want to debate you, or argue with you... but can we talk?
As in, try to actually connect a bit? I must say, a couple times on this thread I thought you were starting to go with the flow of the convo pretty well, but then each time you ended up either resorting to incomprehensible gibberish or insulting people. Example - Sero complimented your avater. Now, I don't know if that was serious or sarcastic (it can be hard to tell with Sero). Your response seemed pretty insulting. Did you just assume the compliment was sarcastic, or is that just your nature? You seem to do that a lot.
And it was just bizarre bringing up your debate with PhilosopherStoned on this thread... what was the point?
I await some actual responses... preferably rational ones rather than talking over my head or being vaguely insulting.
Sure, we can talk. The point about philosopher stoned is that I actually did want to discuss philosophy, and I still would like to with anyone here. All I get is people using the same sigs and making posts that don't even say or try to say anything until this one of yours. So yes I am willing to discuss and talk or I wouldn't be here. What do you think is important in life? Anybody else is invited to speak up as well, but I was having fun just being drunk and playing around as well, but still it would be nice to actually talk about things we feel are meaningful as well.
Excellent!!
What do I think is important in life?
"To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. "
LOL ok, that's a quote from Conan the Barbarian, a favorite movie of mine. That and the Terminator are the roles Arnold was born to play if you ask me. It's a flippant answer, but honestly, I believe humor is important, as well as talking about things you might have in common with people, such as movies and music etc.
I also think deep thought and reflection are important, and to many of us obviously philosophy, religion, spirituality and art. You plainly have a great depth of knowledge concerning these things, which I respect. I feel like maybe you lack a bit in social skills though... maybe? I'm not trying to be antagonistic, but it's a fair bet a lot of us on here do lack some level of social skills. In person I'm not nearly as talkative as online for instance.
Let me ask you this... what do you think is important, aside from the more philosophical/spiritual side of things? Got any hobbies or interests aside from poetry? I think people would accept you a lot better if you open up a bit... I just looked at your profile and I see you haven't filled out anything but the basics.
Oh and I apologize for asking about RG's boobies. I assume that'sher(meant to represent her) in the pic?
I like to Garden and I love to drink beer. Love to take walks in the wilderness. Love sunrises and sunsets. Something I would like to ask you is why the name darkmatters?
I'll try to find it, but I have written some poetries about death, and I actually think how we die is really important. Dark matter can mean several things, and another interest of mine is in physics. Dark matter takes on other meanings there.
Ok, fair question.
I don't know much behind the science of dark matter, but I love the idea of something all throughout the universe exerting powerful forces on it that's completely invisible, and at the same time necessary for what we do know about the universe to make sense. Dark matter to me is the unknown, by that I mean stuff buried deep in our own psyches that people don't face (the Shadow in psychological terms... if you ignore it it will well up and consume you) and it also refers to spiritual realities that we know nothing about but that nonetheless are important in our lives. It ALSO refers to facing the darker parts of life... things many people are afraid of, like what happens after we die. I'm really not explaining this very well, but for reference, you may have noticed the name of my DJ is Because the Dark Matters, I believe it does, but that many people fear the dark and flee into the light. When you do that your own fears grow stronger, hidden away in the darkness, and will destroy you.
I believe the light matters too... of COURSE... but then that was never in question. I just feel that too many people ignore the darkness (mystery, frightening realities etc) at their own peril. As the saying goes, the closer you get to the light, the bigger your shadow becomes.
You've already said on other threads that you love to garden, and earlier on this one that you like to imbibe in the alcohol. Sunrises, sunsets... pretty generic stuff. I feel like you're being very vague and not revealing anything about yourself. You've ignored several questions I asked a few posts back.
How about this.. what region of the world do you live in? Just generally. For some reason I'm getting a Mideastern vibe from you, I guess because your writing often takes on a somewhat biblical tone. Though that could just be because you've absorbed so much religion and spiritual wisdom form ancient sources. Are you willing to open up just a bit and reveal something we don't already know about you? Are you a male or female?
It's hard to place trust in someone who doesn't reveal anything about themselves online.
Dayum Mayflow!! Whoever that is in your avatar should be posted on the Sexy Hawt Females thread!! And don't try to tell me that's you...
my gawd mayflow :P
As I know of it presently, Dark matter is about 25% of the Universe, and Dark Energy (which I find VERY exciting) is about 70%. That leaves about 5% for the nuclear stuff we can see and stuff. Mind boggling, don't you think? A lot of people get obsessed by this even though they don't really even know it. The dark side has its values. Sure, shall we go Jungian? The shadow? The shadow should be acknowledged and revered. There cannot be light without dark. Actually I live right now close to Austin Texas USA. Used to live in Minnesota, what a climate change!
