      Need help using Bittorrent

I'm using this so i can download the long FMV's/Cutscenes in the game Xenosaga since they are so incredible. I have never used this program so I dont really know how to work it properly.

Now when I download it, it says that it will be done in 90-100 hours and thats just for ONE FMV. I thought it would be fast since I have a cable modem. When I had Kazaa I would download movies in 1-3 hours at the most. Why is this one taking so long. Am I supposed to leave my computer on for days straight. ANY help would be appreciated. I have no idea what to do.

      Bittorrent works like this:

Lets say someone wants to post a file on suprnova. They post the torrent file of course. So lets say after he does that 100 people want that file. Well, it goes only as fast as the person posting it can upload. He uploads to one person, he does another. After an hour if you are not downloading from at least 10 people it will take a while. And again if the host has low upload it will go slow too. Sometimes I can download at 380k a second and sometimes 20k.

Thanks, that makes me understand it better. It changed. Instead of 100 hours left, its down to 15 hours at 25%

How can I resume the download(assuming I can) when I stop(since I do have to turn off the computer)

Use the .torrent file again. It will scan the file and resume.

Bitorrent can be good. Shareaza is better. Usually, it just takes a while to kind of "get going". But you get some very good d/l speeds with it, once you've started.

Oh, and there's an excellent Bittorrent client out there. It's called "Bittorrent search". It allows you to search all the torrents aviable for the one you want (takes about 2 seconds to search with BT Search).

Similar to Kazaa, in a way.
