The 1st one looks like a scene from Breaking Bad and the 4th one is the beginning of a Robert Frost poem.

Which brings up the question - which path did you take?

Wow, what kind of spider made that web?

Couple of pics from my holiday. Just taken with an iPod, so not very good quality.
      But I love this place.

I really like the colours in this one^

That looks like a tent caterpillar web to me. I won't post the pic since it isn't from my everyday life (though lord knows I've seen enough of these!) but here's a link to what they look like when populated: http://www.pestproducts.com/images/t...illar-tent.jpg

A quick google will turn up images of massive ones covering square meters of land, and I just ran across a bicycle entirely covered and plastered to a tree by the little demons (online, not IRL).

Tommo, looks like some nice country you toured there.

Those seem to be all up high, or at least off the ground, in trees etc. Although it very well could be them.

And yep, that part of the country is beautiful. And it's right next to beaches!

Tent caterpillars are so gross >_> back when I was little, my grandparents would have to go on business trips to various places in Nebraska/Kansas/Iowa/other parts of Missouri, and on the long boring highway trips with a billion trees surrounding us we would see like 235349252625240695 tent caterpillar nests and would have contest of who could count the most xD

What kind of trees are those, tommo, with the spade leaves and the seed pods? They're uncommon where I grew up (like, I've come across three of them total in different woods) and I never knew what they were called.

      Wow, that many?

I remember when I was a kid if the nests were ever close enough to the ground we'd burn holes through them with a magnifying glass, and when individual caterpillars were cruising around on the tree we'd chase them around the same way. We were mean kids - little mass murderers.

      ** edit

I just realized I haven't seen any tent caterpillar webs in years. Maybe about as long as it's been since I've seen crumbly white dogshit in the 70's. You younguns wouldn't know about that, but back when they crammed dogfood full of ground bone and hooves and all kinds of crap dog turds used to be chalky and white, like they were fossilized. Now that they've been forced to put better stuff in there it stays soft and brown and never seems to go away. Ah the good old days!

That's how people smoke in the the motherland. Rolling cigarettes is the done thing. I know colonials don't tend to do it.

Well, it's just that in America most people who roll their own aren't smoking tobacco.. (at least in my experience)

Ah.... Two zig zags and all.

Here in england its normal to smoke straights or rollups... But I much prefer roll ups. I can physically taste the chemicals in straights.

High resolution just means bigger. Try uploading your picture as actual/original size and then just link the full-sized image here (I believe DV automatically downsizes images). You can also check your camera settings and see if your images are set to "large", which would take maximum advantage of your image sensor.

I roll my own because it is about half the cost, and there are no chemicals added to the tobacco. ...not too common here in the states.

I roll my own too. There are definitely still chemicals in them though, just a lot less. I think American Spirit tobacco is the only one with literally no chemicals added at all.
Too bad I can't find 'em here.... lol

Most of the people I know in the States who still smoke (mostly the poor and working class side of my acquaintance), roll their own. As long as it's labeled "pipe tobacco," it's taxed much less than cigarettes.

I'm pretty sure a mulberry tree would produce mulberries, rather than seedpods.
