Nope, don't gamble. Sure, you can make some cash fast, but the people who are running the lotto thing got to get paid as well, and pay for advertising and so on. So the overall win/lose got to be less than 50% |

I just played a $5 lotto scratcher and got... |

It's definitely not high. I don't think I've won more than $5-$10 on a scratcher other than this in the past few years at least. I keep telling my parents not to buy them anymore but they keep getting some for me anyway. |
|
I'm already going like "Yes! I won!" If I got €10 lol |
|
Whatever happens~
The most I've won was 25 bucks... I don't buy scratch-offs, but our family usually exchanges them in holiday cards, Halloween, Christmas, etc. My aunt got 40 for her 40th (or one of her birthdays she got her age in them...) and won $500, biggest win I've seen. |

Wow, $500. That is big for a scratcher! I always thought those big numbers were just on there to taunt you. |
|
They probably have ONE ticket out of the whole batch that wins the big number... just to say "SOMEONE will win it!" I'm sure they scatter a couple $500's here and there, so those of us who DON'T buy scratchers see when our family members win. IT'S ALL A BIG CONSPIRACY... IT'S AS IF THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF US. |

Blasphemy! |

I'll just throw in the fact that you shouldn't gamble at casinos either. Even if the odds seem good or close to 50%, they never are. Your expected gain is always negative. It has to be, or the casinos wouldn't make money. |
|
The game with the highest odds (logically) is Roulette, and that's only if you play Black or Red: a 50% chance. They make money off of roulette when people bet on anything BUT black or red. So unless everyone decides to play roulette for Red or Black, they will make money. But if you feel like playing for the greatest odds, pick that one! |

My fosterparents were once >1< number short on winning 200k, the jackpot. |

What a bummer!! I would've been pissed. XP |

Lotteries, especially those done by the state, don't make a ton of money; in ohio, half of the revenue goes to winnings, the other half to school funding. |

Sometimes I wonder if anyone has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.
I would also like to add that the claw game is ALWAYS rigged to be too weak. There is something called a yellow box inside that only supplies the voltage needed to pick up a prize at specific intervals. I would think that it would be about twice the plays that are needed to pay off for the average toy inside. (If the toys are worth 5 dollars, then it only allows every tenth to win if the price is a dollar a play.) This can be circumvented. |

Every time you are going to purchase a ticket, just put the 5 bucks in a jar. In five years take all the money out. Congratulations! You have successfully won! |

I've never heard that before. That kind of pisses me off, I liked those when I was a kid. But those aren't played too often so your strategy would require a lot of waiting for a stuffed animal, and kids would probably get creeped out by the person lurking there with a notepad, watching them play. Although if they're smart the machines will be programmed so that there's simply a 1/10th chance of the voltage being applied on every turn. That way no pattern could be recognized. |
