The international "Stream-of-consciousness"-day!

I hereby declare sunday, december 4th, to be the international "Stream-of-consciousness"-day!

What is the international "Stream-of-consciousness"-day you ask?
Well, it's this thing where you sit on facebook (or another social network of your choice (post here if you like)) for at least one hour, and write down any and all thoughts coming through your head. Punctuation is optional.

I tried it on facebook a couple of days ago, and i can heartly recommend it if you dont have anything important to do.

You ought to start a thread in SB for it.

You should tell them to write it in a "note" on facebook, and NOT as statuses. Because that would be fucking annoying, 100 statuses per friend per hour?! :P

I do like writing stream-of-consciousness though - it can bring out things you didn't even know were in there. But yeah - I'd prolly rather keep it to myself rather then try to force people to read through all my garbage.

So I'll probably write some, but won't be posting it.

I agree with others. I've done that before in my own time, for myself, but I wouldn't want anyone else to read that crap unless for some reason they really wanted to.

I was thinking more along the lines of NOT thinking at all, for one day. Not clouding your mind and the present experience with useless thoughts.
If we could get that to be a national day.... the world would improve quite a bit.

You don't need ideas - just put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard and start writing. The act of writing brings the ideas up - or at least brings up streams of words. Seriously - try it. Don't use sentences - no punctuation or structure at all. Just write a word or two, and then new words will occur - write them etc. If you find yourself starting to put a structure to it then obliterate the structure - it's about working totally freeform and too fast to think. In fact it's a psychotherapy exercise to just see what kind of stuff boils up from the depths when you're not thinking in the usual structured (familiar) ways.

You write it all in one status, or two, if you manage to write more than 1000 words.

Just start with something, anything, like banana biscuit I think my parents are annoying that lighting on the wall is gorgeous etc. Just whatever you actually feel, think, see, hear, touch.

Another trick is to listen to music while you do it, because you can comment on what you think about it as well...
