Anyone have showers in the dark?

Has anyone here had hot steamy showers in the dark? I love those types of showers! if you've never had them i HIGHLY suggest trying them, they are relaxing as hell! mostly because you don't see anything except black, so your eyes don't focus on many things.

I just close my eyes when I'm in the shower.

This strangely appealed to me for some reason, then I imagined myself tumbling over stuff trying to find my towel and things.

I just did it. It was terrifying. I've always been afraid of showering. When I was younger I was afraid to shower even in the daytime. I'd feel like ghosts were in there with me. I washed my hair before turning out the lights, but managed to apply bodywash completely in pitch darkness, and it involved standing on one leg. I guess it would have been bad if I'd fallen.

When I first turned them off I felt like I was going to go crazy. I'd start imagining ghosts, and become so paranoid that I get some insane adrenaline rush and run to turn on the lights, but surprisingly that didn't happen. I did imagine ghosts at first, imagining a hand pressing through the shower curtain or something, but before the fear became too intense I was able to calm myself. I was seeing strange spots of light at first. I'm just not used to experiencing the sensation of water while in darkness, especially hot water, it kind of felt like a contradiction. Then the spots of light grew brighter while my eyes adjusted and I was seeing okay near the end. I had the lights out for maybe 5 minutes.

lol The things I'm willing to go through just to have something to post on DV.

haha that sounds intense Dianeva. Is it the shower, or are you just afraid of the dark in general? I got over my fear of the dark a while ago, now I embrace it I'm definitely trying this tomorrow lol

I think it's just the shower. I've gotten over the general fear of the dark as well. I sleep with the lights out without a problem. There's just something about showers that seem like ghosts are haunting them to me.

Try a few more times, then you should find it a breeze. Maybe it's just me but the first time i tried it i was like "damn this rules". Mine was a 20 minute hot shower, hot as in the whole room you can barely see because the steam. If you keep trying it you'd get used to it, and it would be nice and calming. But you gotta walk slowly so you don't slip, that could be bad.

"Yes Doctor, i slipped and broke my leg because i was having a shower in the dark"

Also find better places for your towel so you don't have to bend over.

I have a glass shower door too. I've taken showers in it in the dark before though.
What I love most, though, is turning off all lights and falling asleep in a steamy bath. Waking up is miserable though because you're painfully pruned and freezing

I like showers and baths in the dark. But outside hot tubs under the stars are the best, in the freezing cold of winter when there's snow on the ground.

(anyone remember the awesome shower thread we had? I want a fancy shower)

I'm guilty of this, lol. then I wake up and try to convince myself I did not just fall asleep in the bathtub. I once fell asleep with most of my head underwater. It was basically my nose and my mouth that was above water. lol.

Anyway, I might try this one time. sounds... relaxing. lol

I'm totally doing this sometime soon. Sounds like a great way to go into deep thoughts. Only problem is that electrical switches for my bathroom lights are outside the room. I never understood that design decision.

The more I think about it the more it appeals to me. I have no idea how this could turn out, but it sounds relaxing as hell.
This may sound strange to some but I'd love to fall asleep in the bathtub with a partner. :3

I tried it out last night, was very interesting. At first I didn't think much of it, but after some minutes, I started enjoying the darkness. I realised though that I spend most of my time in the shower with closed eyes anyway, so it wasn't a massive change. A special experience anyway though. I might try it some more. After the shower, I sat in the moonlight and dried off for a little bit. The moon was really bright.

Less thinking, more doing. Besides, if you already know what is in the bathroom, then even in the dark you know where to walk, but obviously don't move too fast. You should know where your body parts are at without seeing them, i'd hope so atleast. They are also good if you have migranes.

Statistically speaking, the shower is where you are most vulnerable to being stabbed by a serial killer.
