There really aren't that many nukes. Common misconception. Enough to wipe out all of the major cities, but if you live in a population centre of about 100,000 or less you should be fine.

Certainly civilisation will have changed radically in that time, but the human species is extremely good at adaptation and isn't going anywhere for pretty much anything short of the apocalypse.

I dunno... what if I end up as a zombie? Well that's more probable than surviving the...

Seriously though, I don't think humanity is going to end anytime soon. Still, I do believe that a social apocalypse will happen... eventually.

Global climate change and dwindling resources might set us back centuries... Or, out of necessity, push us to new technological and societal heights.

Whatever happens at the tipping point, it'll be a good show.

Pretty much this. I'm not sure what the end will be nor when it will come and chances are I won't see it, but if I do then it will be quite entertaining. I'm curious as to whether it will be natural (super-eruption, major asteroid, etc) or brought about by ourselves (biological warfare, nuclear apocalypse (though this is unlikely), etc.) Whenever it does come, I certainly won't be bored unless it turns into a "wait & see" type thing

You've "heard" that the world ends in about 100 years but without a specific cause given. I suggest you hire someone to raise your red flags for you.

Astronomers can only cover a tiny portion of the sky at any one time, and even they have said, "It's a really damn big sky!"

Amateur astronomers find new objects all the time, and it was just a few years back that Earth had an astronomical "close call" when an object passed relatively close to the Earth.

There are a lot of rocks out there, and Jupiter can't protect us from all of them. If it happens, we may have little or no warning.

Still, I'd bet on humans existing in 100 years, and well beyond that.

Step 1: Stay in school.

I don't see our species going anywhere. I can see society falling apart, I think I (and others) take our society for granted, like it's permanent, but really anything can happen to us. I don't think that anything is going to happen to us in my lifetime (I'm too naive for that to happen ), but I wouldn't be surprised.
