So what do you think? I think in love, you have to just let things flow.
No love is unconditional, I think, not even that between parent and child. But of course, when you're in love you're more willing to work on problems.

I don't know what unconditional means. If my lover were to burn my family's house down I would probably consider that a violation of the conditions of our relationship, yes.

as soon as i see the word should or shouldn't in front of love or any other emotion the word bullshit pops up in my mind.
But it's in all humans to want something back when you start giving a lot. Something back can be as little as a glance to as big as possessing the person.
There's love and then there's liking. I love my parents, for instance, but I don't particularly like them. I limit my time around them, but if they were in trouble, I'd still do my best to help them.
Is romantic love any different? I don't think so.
As Khh pointed out, I think love just means you're willing to sacrifice more or compromise more for the sake of the other person. But what if that person turns out to be a royal jerk?
My ex-husband was a royal jerk who ultimately abandoned me and his 4 kids. A part of me will always love him. I understand everyone has their reasons.
But what if he beat me? Would I still feel a tiny spark of love?
The way people typically consider love, it's really a pretense or lie they tell themselves because the feeling they receive from having someone is so amazing they use this word, love, as a way to cling to it.
In this sense, romantic love is not unconditional. However, the love you can feel for yourself has to be unconditional. And this love can be extended to all other being when you have it for yourself. This doesn't mean you shouldn't change the parameters of your relationship with someone if they take advantage of you or burn your house down. It only means that forgiveness is a tool to free yourself from the past, and has nothing to do with the people that hurt you.

Going with the "flow" most likely means you are impulsively making decision based on what ever emotions you are currently feeling. And many of these emotions are made manifest by fears and insecurities. Which leads to destructive behavior.
Love is power. To learn to be accepting and tolerant is a great strength, where as impatience and resistance is weakness. Be more aware of your choices. Don't let emotion control your life.

Love should be unconditional, but the relationship is obviously conditional. Love is something you feel in your heart, and that is created along the way with sharing with this special person, if you get to know this person very well you may fall in love, and it doesn't matter what this person does you'll always love him/her, even though the relationship ends.
