DV Movie Night!

Who: Everyone What: An event where we all hop in chat, watch the same TV show(s) or Sync up and Watch a Movie together When: Sunday Nights and occasional Tuesday nights. Where: Internet 10PM EST (-5gmt) how: Meet up in chat, and synch up to the same movie and shoot the shit. Overview: Last year we randomly linked together and watched animation domination on Sundays, a few series openers, and Avatar. Football season is coming to a close, so I'm pretty much up for anything now. It'll give us a chance to enjoy some of the classics and new movies...give chat something to actually chat about all while vegging out. On for peoples choice nights, a thread is created where everyone decides what they want to watch. There may be a separate thread for votes only to ensure we get a good tally. Then all we have to do is just rent it via redbox *coughs* or other means. The current time is locked in for now, but if there's enough interest we'll add a matinee time for people who are in other timezones. Love this idea. I haven't seen the Butterfly Effect or T2 yet, so it would be cool to watch them with people on DV.

Can't believe you haven't seen T2!? Yeah, I'm going to try to throw in some more classics, and movies that may be related to the holidays that happen. In the meantime I thought it would be best to start out with a few hits, and some surreal type movies. BTW we've already watched inception about two weeks ago...so if anyone wants to see that, it'll probably be towards the end of the year. Decemberish.

I mean, I've seen those like three times each, and I'm guessing most people have seen them before... why not pick something more obscure so that people can watch something for the first time together? I'm guessing the first film is Dark Knight btw.

I'm guessing the first film is Dark Knight btw. The list of movies were based on what people in staff wanted to see. I'm trying to get everyone a little more involved in chat. The peoples choice nights will help bring a little variance to the list. The focus of watching a movie that we've already seen is so we can actually talk amongst ourselves while watching it. It also ensures that people who may not have the best connection available wont have to worry about streaming if they happen to own it. They can buffer the movie out before the start time to help as well. Great idea. But yeah kinda late for UK peeps. So what would be a good time for you guys? Dark Knight is fine but we got to do something about Jumper and Matrix Reloaded. I nominate Braveheart, Fifth Element and Monty Python and the Holy Grail Other ideas include the Original Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones 1-3, Highlander, Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, Predator, Predator 2, Alien, Aliens, Dark Crystal, Hellraiser, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Reservoir Dogs I think it's our responsibility to inform these kids that there once was such a thing as a good film

Nope. I have no interest in it tbh. I also couldn't watch Matrix Reloaded if I tried. And I did, once. For 10 minutes. And that's why it's on a Tuesday.....some people don't like it that much....and some people hate it....personally, I think it's okay. I'm thinking about swapping out jumper for "viewers choice"...i've never seen it, but I think that movie has gotten the most complaints. Maybe throw something old school in there.
