Obama knows how to work a crowd and for the most part, he's reasonable - certainly more so than the GOP candidates (aside from Ron Paul). I find it unlikely that he'll lose, even though I'd much rather see RP take the win.

I think Ron Paul is a moron. I don't think extremely highly of Obama either, (although he's the best candidate). But, as you said, he knows how to work a crowd; he's an incredibly good speaker, he will win.

I'm on the left side of libertarian. That being said, Obama is a collective of disposable waste. I only voted for him the first time because he was black. Now he doesn't even have that going for him, he makes Wayne Brady look like Malcolm X. Yes, he's the most electable candidate, especially if he got to go against Romney or Santorum. But he's a fucking fascist conservative in the same damned boat as those douchebags, he's just paying lip service to liberals, that's it. No matter what he does, Fox News is going to call him a liberal pinko Muslim Iranian Secret Agent. I want a candidate who does all the things Fox News bitches that Obama would do when in fact he would never do those things. To me, the most important issue to focus on is dissolving our 2 party system or at least throwing a candidate in there who isn't a fascist. I'm behind Ron Paul as the best possible candidate not only to take on Obama but redirect this country in a more positive direction. However, if it's not in the cards for him then the next best thing I could hope for is see at least 20% of the country defect to 3rd party in this election cycle. Perhaps if that happened the main parties would think twice about this charade.

What's not inspiring or beneficial about emphasizing and encouraging the ambitious spirit toward invention and discovery in human nature? I'd say it's one of the top if not the top indicators of good leadership. It beats Cameron's "smart power" anyway. lol

Also, yes that is probably the reason he will win because a vast majority of Americans do not care too much, but most still know the Republicans are insane. However for the people that know anything about politics, they will vote for him because he's brought about a lot of change. Some very bad, some very good. But he isn't the coward that some people make him out to be. Anyway, care to elaborate? Maybe moron was too harsh. I think he's fairly intelligent, with some horrible horrible ideas. If you think the government is bad at running a business, you wouldn't even be able to comprehend the royal cluster fuck that would occur if private businesses were allowed to reign free. Free market capitalism is moronic. It has some good upsides, because anyone can start a business selling anything, rather than the government deciding what's allowed. So it allows people to be free. The downsides massively outweigh the good sides, huge businesses owning monopolies in their sector, allowing them to set the bar for prices. Think Google, for some IRL product, like oil. They would be able to pay workers any amount of money they choose, since there would be no minimum wage, they could fuck up the environment as much as the please to gain profit. The list goes on. In a world where people think for themselves and are able to take decisive action against something they see as unjust, or wrong in any way, this system would be perfect. In this world, many people enjoy taking it up the ass. They will put up with that $2 an hour from a company that mines precious metals from ancient ocean geysers. Because people don't care.
