A short survey for a class essay

I am writing an essay for my English class about the stereotypes of men in the US, and I need your help for some research. If you could fill out this short survey, I would really appreciate it. Although this is mostly aimed at people in the US, I would like to get views from other countries also. Thank you for your help! Here is the survey.

I went to attempt on the survey but I can't think of anything to fill up. Maybe you can start by giving us certain examples of stereotypes of men.

@Carrot: Stereotypes like men have to be strong, that men that act/talk a certain way are gay, etc.
@Litost: What's wrong with the link? It just goes to a google docs form.

I'd fill it out but it doesn't seem like a very good survey. Won't everyone's answers be pretty much the same? The stereotypes are sort of defined in our society (emotionless, strong, etc.) It isn't even much of a survey, really. Maybe if it asked questions to determine people's personal expectations of what men should be like or something, it would work. But as it is, it seems pretty pointless. What are you even trying to figure out?

What questions would you suggest I ask? I am trying to write an essay about what the stereotypes of men in the US are, how they affect people (both men and women), and why they need to eradicated from our society. I was kind of stuck for what questions to use, so if you have some good ideas, I will gladly change the survey.

All you need is start a thread on what aspects of a man that a woman hates. You'll start seeing stereotypes of men appearing in that thread, I assure you.

      Edits:
Here are some threads from a local forum in my country. Read at your own pleasure. They consists of opinions towards both genders but you might get some stereotypes of men aimed at a thread to find stereotypes of women.

what do you mean by strong? i know some gay guys from the gym that are physically stronger than i am, but mentally they are super gay. as in afraid of spiders in their home.
that men that act/talk a certain way are gay, etc.
what if the stereotype is true, is it still a stereotype?

i mean, have you ever seen a man act/talk like this:
      Frank and beans
and not immediately recognized him as a homo?

I would suspect that there are a lot of common stereotypes but that people from different backgrounds and areas also probably have different ones as well. Since the internet reaches a huge area, you are likely to get a lot of different results and if he gets a lot of similar answers it gives him ones to focus on.

Stereotypes are never true though. Being afraid of spiders isn't gay. Being scared of spiders has nothing to do with gender or sexual orientation. Phobias usually happen because of some traumatic event(not necessarily a large one but even a minor one) that happened when you were young. Fear of spiders usually come from some childhood event where a spider jumped out at you or landed on your head or something and it freaked you out and now you are afraid of all spiders.

Gay as in sissy boy. And yes, you're a sissy boy if you're afraid of a spider. period

It has plenty to do with strength, though. That is what this is about, right?

So who's stronger in this model, a slightly less physically fit male not afraid of 'bugs', or the more physical male who is?

@greenhavoc: I have a friend who acts gay, or what you think of as gay, but is not gay. I also have a friend who does not act gay, but actually is. It's the kind of stereotypes you are saying that I am trying to address in my essay. Also, I am afraid of spiders (a lot less now than before), and I am not gay.
@everyone: I would really appreciate if you could a minute to fill this out, it's just your opinion and experience, so there are no wrong answers. Thank you.

What does acting straight look like?

      You mean like this:
@greenhavoc:I have a friend who acts gay, or what you think of as gay, but is not gay. I also have a friend who does not act gay, but actually is
Also, I am afraid of spiders (a lot less now than before), and I am not gay.
You're a sissy, still. Also, irrational.

I don't know what acting gay or straight looks like, that is partially what I would like to find from this survey. I have asked people why they think he is gay (and why they also sometimes say I am gay). Their only response is "he/you act like your gay." According to you, being afraid of spiders is part of acting gay. I know my fear of spiders is irrational, but I don't think one irrational fear means I'm a "sissy."

That's a flat out lie and you know it. Surely you must have some idea of your own, or you wouldn't have made this comment:

@greenhavoc:I have a friend who acts gay, or what you think of as gay, but is not gay. I also have a friend who does not act gay, but actually is

Well how do you act, then? Make a youtube video and let all of us here a dv see for ourselves what a straight person that acts gay looks like. Maybe you are gay, maybe you just don't know it yet. This isn't something to be ashamed of, apparently, in this day and age.
According to you, being afraid of spiders is part of acting gay.
According to literally billions of people, not just me. lol
I know my fear of spiders is irrational, but I don't think one irrational fear means I'm a "sissy."
It does when your irrational fear is something that trivial. Calling you a sissy isn't an insult, so please don't take any of this to heart. I'm here to help.

You're right, I do know what acting gay looks like. It's acting like you like guys, since liking guys is what being gay is. I also know I am not gay, and I have no idea why people think I am. You are truly the only person I've heard say that being afraid of spiders is gay, but if it's a stereotypes you know of, I would be glad to have you list it on this survey. Also, being afraid of some spiders, like the black widows, hobos, and brown recluses, isn't completely irrational or trivial, since they can kill or injure you (this talk of spiders is getting a little off topic, so I'll leave it there).

So you're saying you have a friend that pretends to like guys, but he really doesn't?

@greenhavoc: I have a friend who acts gay, or what you think of as gay, but is not gay

That seems kinda strange, and quite possibly dangerous.

I also know I am not gay, and I have no idea why people think I am.
      Do you act feminine?

Only one person has filled in the survey, and this argument is going nowhere, so I will leave it at that and bid you good day sir.
