      The Dreamviews Slump

      Not a lot to say here, but I was just wondering...
      Is Dreamviews in a slump right now? It seems like there is so little activity, and I'm at a loss as to why. Is it finals? The news? Global cooling? Has KingYoshi been gone too long?
      Ah, whatever it is, I wish I knew! 'Cause a dead DV is... a dead DV.
      Not good.

      Oh, and if DV is in a slump, does that happen regularly?

      The site was down for a while, as well as being hacked before that. But yes, even before that there seemed to be dwindling activity.

      Not sure why.

      1291new members after hack and hijack (!!!)

      Some of my favourites haven't posted in a while, (Like Waking Nomad). But when ALEX sent out his hacked and hyjacked Mass email there were 50,504 members, (March 1).

      Now, (May 3) look! There is 51,795.

      1,291 new registered in 64 days Wow!

      A lot of lurkers may have come by to check out the commotion. Plus a *lot* of people created a few fake accounts to fuck the forums up.

      I feel like before IRC I posted a lot more. Now I come on the forums wanting to make posts and I end up getting distracted by chat all the time. I've even been neglecting to properly journal some pretty awesome lucid dreams. But it's not only chat, I've been working a lot.

      I don't know how active DV is when it's at its peak. But there are still a little activity going on here and there especially on specific threads.

      I noticed the server change having some impact as well, but that's just in the last week.

      I notice several members keep popping up in chat that just figured out that we changed servers.

      this happens really regularly. late spring into summer is our downtime, and we spike up bigtime fall and onwards
      looking back on it, Asher probably sold this thing at the best time possible, saying "oi look we've got this massive upswing and it's still growing who wants this bitch on the cheap"
      and then Alex fell for the soultrap that is DV
      the hack probably didn't help either

      I've been gone too but for reasons that wouldn't explain everyone's absence. This surprises me because I'd expect the opposite. More people signing up and frequenting the site upon school being out. Was it like this last year at this time?
