Best part of DV?

About a month back there was a topic called I love DV Because... It was probably one of the best threads I ever saw; I had just joined the site and I was surprised to see a site with members so devoted to it. :)

Then about a week ago in the chat room, Barbizzle asked a question that's been stuck in my head ever since... "why do you love dv so much, is it the people or the info on LDs?" (i forget the exact wording...) So I ask that question to you all out there--why does DV rock so much, the info or the people?

Personally the information here is extremely helpful, and has helped me a lot. I do spend a lot of time in the on-topic forums, but the info has nothing on the people here; we have a truly amazing community here. And you guys rock!! :D

Disclaimer/Note: This is not intended to be a repeat of the "I love DV because thread...", only a thread to ask if you like the people more or the info more. And yes, there is no both option, so you'll have to decide :P (muahaha) And DV r0x. :D

The best thing about DV is that it's not full of complete morons *cough*newgrounds/gamesxposed/ld4all/eaxposed*cough*.
Most of the discussions here are actually logical and not just full of people who want to bring their post count up.

There are many LDing websites.. I come here because of the people. :content:

I came here originally because i wanted more information on LD'ing...and i got far more than i ever expected!
Soon after i joined, i began hanging about in the chat, and all the people are really helpful, and good to have a chat with.
There's no malice anywhere on the board, it seems like the people who are registered here are all here because they are truly interested in lucidity and dreaming, not because it's just somewhere to be.
It's so much nicer than the other dreaming board i belong to, where fights keep starting, and hardly anyone discusses dreaming, and those that do, don't stay very long...
In that board, it's like there's a 'clique' of people, and i no longer feel part of that...
Here, everyone is made to feel so welcome, and they are made to feel that their opinion actually counts.
If there is trouble, it's always been dealt with, promptly and fairly, with no threat to the ethic of the board.
So, i picked people after...because i feel its' the people that make DV what it is...
LONG LIVE DV AND DREAMING!

I think for new people the best part of DV is the HUGE amount of LD info. After they have been here for a while the people start playing a bigger role. Finally the people is the main reason for them to stay in here. At least this is how I feel. It's great to have all this information about this interesting aspect, but I wouldn't stay here or be so active without the people.

At first I thought hysteria's post was stupid rant, but then I understood the excellence of her analogy. I couldn't have said it better.

I love the people here at Dreamviews. I have never met such an array of smart enjoyable dedicated people before. I honestly have love for each and every one of you. There are always books and other resources for lucid dreaming, but DV is the only place that draws the best people from all over the planet to one place. By knowing you guys I have become a better person and have changed for the better. When I open up my internet browser DV is right there as my home page. Not only is this place my homepage, but also a home in my heart. I can be anywhere, at school, work, away, and when I log into Dreamviews, I am home again, with my extended family. I have had the wonderful opportunity of being able to really get to know some of you. Not just casualy know you, but to knwo who YOU are, your dreams and thoughts and your true selves. And the same for you to me. I know the longer I stay here, the more I get to explore you and become closer to you, and I'm so thankful for that. You people are my home and I carry you in my heart always.

I dont think there is a "best" part of dreamviews. I think that the mix of certain elements makes it such a great forum. Another great aspect is its not a traditional message boards where losers log in just to spam or flame other users for "personal satisfation", it helps in a positive way by connecting people who have similar interests. The fact that it is a dreaming forum drives away the losers who think every other thing is "gay". I once refered my friend to this site and she was turned off just by looking at the URL. But then again thats not the kind of person you would want on this forum anyway. A community of spiritual dreamers is more likely to be sucessful than a forum of, say, fans of a certain music genre. Fights are likely to break out about "this band sucks this one is better " etc. Dreamviews is by far the best forum I have ever come across and the one I have sticked with the longest.

A wierd thing is that i have learned about many, many other things here that i most likely would not have learned elsewhere (websites, programs, games, and stuff like that). I can seriously and maturely say that dreamviews has changed my life (its kind of spooky to think about because my friend had found out about this site through a post on another forum (legendaryfrog, was hacked, and a search turned up nothing. cry) and had referred me to it. A simple thing that he may or may not have chose to do, i cringe at thinking of him not being online that certain hour. That night i had read half of the main page articles. The next day i read the rest and finally joined the message board. Ironically, my friend has never visited it since.) I would just like to say... wow. Icedawg if you see this than thank you. I dont know what i would do if this message board were to cease existence and i promise to stay with everybody no matter what happens!
