Feeling depressed.

My dad just told my my room was gross and I live like a pig. But he's the one who forced me ito this room from my old one that I spent 2 whole days cleaning with no help, and fucking turned it into a nice bedroom with a polished floor and a tempur pedic mattress for him and his wife. And throws me in a fucking cramped up room with a mattress on a floor, a few days later he takes my covers and pillow case and one of my pillows. I'm 17 and I'm living like I'm homeless. He won't let me get a job or my license, I have no friends, I hardly ever get out of the house, and I'm pretty sure my room has mold growing in it. I have no furniture, covers, or pillow cases.

Sorry for cursing and stuff, but do you guys think this is fair treatment?

The Rant, Rave, Cry and Complain thread is probably better for posting something like this, instead of starting your own entire thread. There's also a Help section which is moderated if you really feel terrible and are seeking advice. It's completely fine now because you're new, I'm just telling you for the future.

It does sound like he's being inconsiderate, but it doesn't sound like the specific issue is worth making that big of a deal out of. What do you need more than one pillow for anyway? And aren't there other covers you can find and use? You aren't living like you're homeless because you're in a home.

Still, he sounds a little mean. Have you asked him why he won't let you get a job or your license? Most parents are more than happy to let their kids achieve those things are your age, so it seems a little odd.

(I saw the image Phion posted, hate when people make fun of others for being depressed but I couldn't help laughing at that)

No, all covers and pillows are kept downstairs and he won't let me go down there and he keeps it locked 24/7. I have a genetic gene and dirty pillows and mattresses and mold causes me to get very ill, my sister has it too and she lost an ovary because of it. Everytime I ask him about a job or license he responds with "ok we'll do it" and he's been saying that for almost 2 years now.

Feels like you're trapped in your own house. Is there no way you can get out? But you might be unable to get back into the house if you managed to freed yourself from it.

If all gets to bad, then that is child abuse and the authorities could be notified. Not saying its necessary or easy but somtimes its for the better, If he too selfish to aid you, then there is no reason why you should be treated like that. Off course this advice is only if you are suffering becuase of your dads actions.
