Thread: Don't Try This at Home

I was standing up in my living room filling my lighter with butane gas. The lighter lives in one of my tool boxes for the odd purpose.

Now, this lighter is tricky to fill, the valve isn't that great. There was liquid butane gas spilling out over the lighter in abundance. I am used to this so I hold the lighter with a pair of pliers and not my fingers.

After filling my lighter I noticed a dark circular patch on my carpet where the butane had spilled over. The patch was about 3 inches wide and I surmised that it was the remnants of the liquid butane gas. I thought I might as well burn it away. I also didn't understand the nature of butane gas...

I lit the 3 inch wide patch and I was suddenly standing in the liddle of a patch of flames about 4 FEET wide. Oh my God, Thank F**k I had some shoes on. I tried frantically to stamp out the flames to save the poor carpet instead of jumping out of the ring of fire to protect myself. The flames died down after a few seconds and I am now left with a huge burn mark on my carpet.

I'm going to have to get a rug to cover it. Oh dear
