Thread: Notable people on DV

Here that makes sense but believe me, there was a huge amount of hatred against each other on those forums. Even if someone with a high post count asked a "noobish" question he would be mocked by people that felt superior to him.

Some forums are just bad like that.

DV is certainly the best one i was on so far

Actually, of the forums I've frequented, most have had a friendlier atmosphere than Dreamviews. But then I am very picky about my forums.

Guys I have to tell you that I have tried many times to join all sorts of forums ,but it never went so well. Even though unlike the other forums DV is not only a lucid dreaming forum (which already makes it special) , it is also a forum where people are actually open to each other's thoughts & feelings. They are willing to accept almost everything you will say or at least read what you wrote and then say what they think about it. What I am trying to say here that people here are open minded. That is a quality which many people lack and when you come to a place where you can express yourself the way you want and you know that people will read what you wrote and will really pay attention to that you get a really good feeling. Most people here are also really nice and are willing to help you and give you an advice or help you if needed. Also there a lot of brilliant minds here and also very experienced people on DV which also makes the discussions here a lot more interesting. Take as an example the thread "Is it ethical to kill a DC". You can see how many smart comments were written only on that single thread about that philosophical question and the nice part is that people don't just argue , they also try to reason with each other and get to an agreement (unlike many people who just argue for the sake of arguing and shouting...). I also really love seeing how people who are very attached to mystics & people who are very attached to everything related to science get along so well here on DV .So in short DV is a website where a bunch of brilliant, nice, well tempered, open minded , enlightened and caring people gather from all kinds of areas. That is why I like DV and that is why I am very unpleased when I read post that say that there are many gays on this forum or blogs that say that DV is a fake community ,even though it is really great.

Just wanted to say that this forum really is quite special. After both the nexus forums and technic pack forums when I was still modding games I was really put off from forums. If one word was said opposing a member with a high post count you would be sluaghtered. Here on the other hand there is a great atmosphere.

You should take a look at popular forums. They probably have few hundred thousands or millions of members registered to achieve higher activity.

That explains why there are more gay members here and other sexualities. Just goes to show they are more willing to share their sexuality without people coming up and making fun of them as compared to other forums.

I like this forum, it's funny because even greenhavoc sticks around though I have no idea why. I guess because they shut down Stormfront.

I've found the people here to be generally the most accepting and non-judgmental group of people I've ever encountered, and I absolutely love that. This is really the one place where I feel like no topic (within reason) is off-limits to a thoughtful and intelligent discussion.

Man, I know that feel. It's like that on the Valve forums, everybody fawns over the self-appointed clique of top posters, who can't handle the tiniest criticism. I called them out on it and got banned. So glad we don't have that here.

Yeah, Steam forums are one of the worst Especially the TF2 section... or at least it was when i was last active there...

Top posters get treated as attention seekers in another forum I frequent. -.-

One thing I've always found unusual about DreamViews, at least compared to other forums I frequent, is that DreamViews never really gets that 'clique of self appointed important people'. I mean, sure, some people may have tried, but they got shot down quickly, simply because people ignore them. Being self important on DreamViews doesn't really pay off. In a few cases it's gotten good members banned, which is a shame, but in the end it keeps the community open and strong, which is more important than stroking somebody's ego.

I've been on here for 6 years now and I've made a lot of friends, had a lot of very insightful discussions, and biggest of all, DreamViews took a big part in me realising my sexuality. DreamViews has probably taught me more than any other forum on the internet, and for that I'm thankful.

Don't care who made the site, don't care who maintains it. I just care who brings the heat on a daily basis.

I think that Omnis Dei and tommo are the spaceships carrying this place through the stars and space. Carrot gets a vote on that nod as well (fulfills message board equivalent to Rooney Rule) and I could even give a shot out to the one guy who looks like Morpheus, rides bike and plays guitar. Don't remember his name, but I would go to war for that man. Four of my favorite members since March. List subject to change at will.

At any case, this is a pretty solid forum. It has a lot of diversity, is interesting and brings a lot to the table. Been on forums for easily over a decade and this ranks up there with the best of 'em. It is one of only three forums I actually post on. Haven't been here long enough to make a long-term assessment, but I do appreciate that it is an outlet for a lot of young adults and people in their early 20s who are making tough strides through life to come and share thoughts, experiences and anything with each other.

I believe you speak of Oneironaut Zero. He's DV's resident badass and leader of her armies should she ever be at war. So I guess it's a good thing you'd be willing to fight for him, since he may call on you one day.

One of the forums I go to will ban you for trying to put your join date above others, as well as post count.

Dreamviews has a decent atmosphere. We have douche bags all over the place. A lot of people on here act fake. But for the most part we have great members. And you will learn to ignore the assholes. Alex used to be way more active. He was always in chat and always responded to PM's. He has brought a lot to dreamviews. I wish we had an owner who was into lucid dreaming though. But Alex does take good care of us.

And yeah Jeff, mention ninja. The man who tried to steal all of our passwords and help the member who runs the blog bashing dreamviews. I guess he is notable. But deffinitly not on the good list. Also I find it funny that a lot people who you listed are against dreamviews. But I do agree with you. Those are the most important members.
