      Share Postal Addresses

      I don't believe this:

      The Killshot: Approaching the Moment

      but

if we email each other a postal address then if a solar flare brings down the World Wide Web (internet) then we can ALL stay in contact by old fashioned snail mail.

      And

      Still practice Psi Dreaming (share-dreaming, mutual-dreaming, telapathic-dreaming and precognitive-dreaming).

If you don't feel comfortable giving your home address give a post office box number or a friends post box address.

No good boo-hooing () after the event.

When Dreamviews got Hacked and Hyjacked I felt lost and lonely and so mad at myself for not PMing everyone while DV was up and getting lots of DV folks private email addresses.

I hope to PM everone who posted to the wonderful Rant and Rave, Cry and Complain Thread. I will invite you to email me on my "yahoo.co.uk" email account from your private email account. Next we can exchange postal addresses.

Haha oh wow, if you think that an event could put down the entire internet for a long period of time, you would have more important things to worry about, than staying in touch with people on Dream Views. The death of the internet would mean the death of most software and hardware companies, which would result in a global economic collapse.

Not to mention, if there was a solar flare that was powerful enough to wipe out the WWW for an extended period of time, it would also most likely take down power grids, leaving the world completely in the dark. That means you have to crap in your backyard, hunt for food after all the grocery stores are looted and your supply at home is gone, get water out of local water sources which will probably be contaminated, not be able to use any electric appliances, not be able to use veicles, etc.

If you live in places that get really cold, well you better hope there are trees you can chop down for firewood (if you have an axe), if not you are screwed. If you live in places that get really hot, no matter what you are screwed. Also, mass riots occur, and people would go around killing for supplies. Basically, all hell would break loose, millions and millions of people would die, and life would be pretty damn miserable.

So yeah, like Marvo said, staying in contact with people from DV would be the LAST thing you have to worry about. Oh and if this were to happen, snail mail would not work. Mail men have to use cars which need gas which would not be able to be pumped if there is no electricity.

So pray to god or to allah or to the flying spaghetti monster, that this never happens.

Isn't the post office pretty much run by computers?

Obviously there would be a large contraction but I don't really think people wouldn't remember how to return to the economy of the late 90s.

Contraction is an extreme understatement. The entire economy relies on 21st century technololgy, but the economy wouldn't be the main thing to worry about either, the main thing people would be worrying about is how to survive. Imagine not being able to walk into a grocery store and buy food. IF you live in the woods, you might be okay. What do you do if you live in the city. Your basically screwed.
