I haven't smoked weed in about 6 or 7 weeks now I think. I actually smoked cigarettes for a bit maybe just to cope with the habit of wanting to smoke something but they aren't really as good and kind of gross so I'm over that. I was smoking everyday several times a day since I ended school (over a month) and before that everyday almost everyday while I had weed then I'd take a break for a few days maybe when I ran out for 3 or 4 months. It was a little to overwhelming for me being high all the time especially since I often was dealing with stressful situations. I've been meditating everyday and I wish to be able to cope with stress and myself without being dependent on weed. Not to say that I won't ever smoke again.

So I've been away from the forums working on myself in many ways. I started smoking again after a couple month's break although not even close to as frequently. I've noticed that at least in my case as long as I'm positive I will remember my dreams, even if I go to bed stoned I will remember at least one dream quite vividly at that. It was hard for me to stay away from smoking because I have stomach problems that prevent me from eating and leaves me in pain almost 24/7. I've had every test in the books done and doctor's don't know what's wrong, smoking is the only thing I have found that remedies this problem. I've been quite successful with my LDing and self exploration ventures lately and couldn't be happier with the direction I'm heading in.

I have said that literally more than 100 times in the last 20 years, but the good news is that I don't have to quit as often any more. I hope you stay done with it. Good luck.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

What I've learned in the past year or so is moderation Too much of anything is almost never good for your mental or physical health. I still smoke regularly, taking a few weeks off for a tolerance break every now and then. During that time I save up money to either sock away or spend on something nice for myself or a friend.

When I first made this thread I had thought that smoking was stopping me from accomplishing a lot of the goals I had set for myself. Now I realize the only thing holding me back was myself. You can do all the things you would LIKE to do, as long as you first do what you HAVE to do. Something that helped me was to not smoke at all unless I did something to make me feel like I earned it. Keep your mind clear and focused and stay positive, I can't tell you how much of a difference a positive attitude can have on your day to day life. Good luck to anyone going through a tough time in their life, if you need someone to talk to feel free to message me or any other member of DV, I'm sure they would love to help.

      Peace

There was a time when I thought marijuana was to blame for my laziness and lack of accomplishment. But really, it wasn't, because after going many weeks/months without smoking, I proved to be even more lazy and even less motivated. Marijuana didn't make me lazy; I already was a lazy motherf***er. But marijuana can emphasize those negative aspects of oneself.

Also, like you said, the key is moderation. Smoking everyday starting from the minute I wake up is not for me. For some that's what works, and to each their own. I've always preferred waiting till near the end of my day before I light up, and even than it's all about how you treat it, mentally.
