Wow...I don't think it would be quite right for me atm, plus I couldn't afford it, but that's cool. This part caught my interest, too:

Want to ... create an app that can monitor your sleep? Pebble can send data from the accelerometer and buttons back up to the internet.
      Possible LD applications..?

haha, didn't even see that part, but I suggested that to Ev as soon as I saw it, to integrate with his LD app. Hopefully he does.
The vibrating function would be more easily integrated in to dreams than noises I think.
Or.... it would wake you up in a less startling way than noises anyway. At least when you get used to it

Exactly the app I was thinking of, haha. I guess you could either have it vibrate or have it send a signal to your phone to make a noise, depending on your preference.

Yeah, I imagine that having the accelerometer on the watch and the phone would be extra precise.

What's the deal with this Kickstarter website? It seems like the donors get a bum deal. Free gizmos..? What was wrong with buying shares?

People just want to help. If they're happy to pay for what they get, it's not a bad deal.

Some of the projects on there do have options to buy shares. I saw one recently that was $10,000+ and you get shares in the company.

So, without a smart phone it's fairly useless? I mean, it seems cool and all, but I'm surprised how over-funded it is. To me, it just seems like a way to check your phone without reaching in a pocket/purse. All the things you can do with that watch, you can already do with a phone. So if you already have a smart phone... I don't get it.

Then again, I'm pretty disgusted with the way most people treat smart phones, so it's highly likely that I won't like anything related to them.

BTW, I think Kickstarter is a pretty cool site. I've "backed" a movie. Haven't received it yet (it only ended recently), but basically you are buying a product in advance. It's not a donation. If a product isn't fully funded, you get your money back. And if it is funded, you get whatever you paid for once it's completed.
