      Other than dreaming...

Obviously, all of us are here because of a shared interest in at least one thing: Dreaming. But I'm curious as to what you all do otherwise? Work, school, play, other.

My favorite passtime is to play and listen to music. I am primarily a drummer, but I can play guitar, keyboard instruments, and various other instruments as well.

Though related, another favorite passtime of mine is my tutoring with my drum instructor. Lessons with him are really something else. I think we spend more time talking about ancient history, science, and philosophy more than we talk about music, but at the same time, everything can be tied back to music. He's a very intelligent and interesting man, though, and I enjoy speaking with him, about just about anything and everything, really.

Of course, there is one person with whom no one can compete with for my enjoyment, and that's my girlfriend Sativa. She's an airhead, but she truly is an intelligent woman. I plan on sharing my lucid dreaming training with her, though she stands a very good chance of surpassing me on that journey. She herself has no problem with dream recall--it comes completely naturally with her. Which, generally isn't a good thing in her case, however. She suffers from horrid nightmares. But we plan to fix that soon

I am also a big gamer. I'm a sucker for First Person Shooters, and I've been a fan since the amazing (at the time) Wolfenstein 3d. Over the years, DooM, Quake, and Half-Life have become an important part of my life. I've just met a friend who is actually sponsered at QuakeCon, and I hope to attend next year's conference with him, which should prove to be fun I also enjoy role playing games--my favorite of which being Fallout. Amazing game. I hope to create many of my dream adventures in this neat little universe. I would have so much fun wandering the wastes.

I have a geeky side, too--I am quite proficient with HTML, and recently I've delved into the wonderful world of PHP, which has proven to be fun... and aggravating. But it's all good Once I'm finished with my current PHP project, I'm looking into learning C++, and start a wonderful hobby in game modding. Particularly for Half-Life. I have a great idea to start an adventure game akin to the Tex Murphy series by Sierra, utilizing the Half-Life engine. It should be great fun

If it isn't terribly apparant by now, I also like to write. Writing is one of my biggest passions, and I hope to someday make a living of it. Shoudl be fun

How about you guys? What do you do besides dream?

Does daydreaming count as a pasttime?

I too love to write and enjoy listening to music (everything from rap, latin, country to opera).

I've been a ballroom dancer for over two years now and go dancing at least once a week.

I'm also a wife to a wonderful man and a mother to a son anyone would be proud of!

      Great topic btw!

      my name is Curtis

My interests have gone down hill since i started my job about 3 months ago, its like work takes up a major part of my life but thats still cool cause i have dreaming

I finished my degree last year at the University of Cornwall studying a BA Hons in Film Studies (Cornwall is a beautiful part of the world). Did my disertation on George A. Romero.

I dont know what to do with myself now ive finished with Uni (lol), up until 20 i had all these plans for life and dreams that i wanted to fullfill - "i want to do this, i want to do that". I guess i take life at a more relaxed speed these days, my dreams seem to be on 'hold' trying to work for a living etc

      I love writing and talking

And i am saving to travel around Europe next year

      Stay Lucid!

      Hmm...
Well, i work in a nursing home..i guess that's one of my main over riding passions...
I love reading, i can really lose myself in a book.
I like writing, i'm trying to write a novel, but it's been on 'hold' for the last three months at least..i'm totally, completely stuck!
I write poetry better...people that have read it liked it, but i wonder if they are just being nice...
I recently took up knitting, but i've stopped that too for some reason.
Oh, and i love being out of doors, walking around in the middle of nowhere. Makes you feel powerful yet insignificant at the same time...reminds us we are part of a bigger picture than just ourselves.
I have a favourite spot that i visit on a regular basis, a place i go to when life gets to me, and i need to re centre.
As to the writing, i'm an avid Journal keeper, sometimes writing in it two or three times a day, depending on how bothered i am by various things in my life.
I guess dreaming is an interest...for me, i have noticed they reflect my life, but also, in many cases, since i've been writing them down, i've found them insightful into my spiritual and emotional development.
I want to go into nursing full time, and i hope to take up my nurse training in eighteen months.
I also want eventually to rejoin my folks in america, because i miss them like hell...
I guess i want lots of things...

Well I'll put it like this I AM A COUCH POTATO!

Haha anyway... the things I like to do when I am not dreaming or on Dream Views

Watch TV (probably do way to much of that)

Read - but I sometimes use it as an escape from life... so I don't read much most the time and the other times you can't get my head out of a book!

Write- I have found a new love, my online journal! I am thinking I will write my life story starting at 18ish. I may even dive further into the past. Right now I just feel i need to get the last 10 years out of my head and them maybe I can get over them. Haha my version of therapy.

I love to dance. Nothing professional mind you. I just like to shake it to a good beat!!! lol and that requires drinking... but sadly I don't get out dancing much! Still like to drink often though (again probably to much)

I love to cook and of course eat good food! I am in the process of updating my kitchen and learning how to make a shopping list. I still can't figure out why I always get home and I have forgotten something.... DAMN it LAURA a LIST~!!!!! Hence I don't cook as much as I would like!

Most of all I love to talk to my sister and nephew on the phone. I'm sad being away from them but I get to talk to them all the time. Speaking of them... I'm gonna call them now

      Lola out...
