I love chocolate. Tons, and tons of the stuff. |

I recently discovered just how much cats make me smile. Most of my family are dog lovers so we never had a cat. Thats not to say I don't adooore dogs, I do (especially my yorkies Evie and Baylie). Generally speaking I am a huge animal lover. But after getting a cat (a big fluffy, british longhair named Jinxie) I've discovered that I not only like cats, I love them. Jinxie has black and white fur and big beautiful, round green eyes. I always thought that cats were cold and distant. I could not have been more wrong. He is just as sensitive to my feelings as the doggies (which is a lot) and is always there for me when I'm upset. He is very playful and loves to roll around in my rose patch. |

Why does this thread exist lol doesn't seem to have any sense lol |
Chocolate does not kill dogs. There may be a breed that can not digest the wonderful treat, but no dog I have ever heard of has dropped dead from eating chocolate. |
Do you realize you're inadvertently telling people to poison their dogs? Too much chocolate can make dogs very sick or kill them - do a little googling if you don't believe it. |
Chocolate is on the list of most poisonous things to a pet. Not sure if cats are incuded, but I would err on side of caution. |
I had a pony that stole my hot chocolate all the time. But yeah. No chocolate for pets. |
I go to a huge pet store ( PETWORLD ) and they sell chocolate treats for dogs. |
Wow - yeah, that must be some kind of special formula without the toxic ingredient. Seems kind of bizarre that they'd do that, as obviously it can lead people to believe chocolate is fine for dogs. Hopefully there's at least some kind of warning on the labels not to feed dogs normal chocolate. |
My mother's dog died because of a skin illness most likely brought on by that dog having been fed chocolate. Chocolate is indeed toxic for dogs. |
You may say I'm a dreamer.
But I'm not the only one - John Lennon
Basically don't feed your yorkies your yorkies. |
Xei - You have a sense of humor. |

Chocolate has theobromine in it. It's a mild stimulant and an analogue of caffeine. While not inherently toxic to humans, both of these substances and many other related substances of the methylxanthine class are toxic to animals (such as common household pets like dogs and cats) and insects. In fact, caffeine is thought to be a natural pesticide formed by many plants. |

I love cats too! |
My son owns a cat that absolutly hates, and fears me. |
Cats are incredable. Looking at pictures of kittens can be really calming, cuz there you see an animal thats beautiful and also very sweet ^_^ Plus they can also be very funny xD 8D |
What was this thread about again ???????????? |
I feel the exact same way. I like cats a lot, but my parents are dog people. |
Chocolate will not kill a dog or cat unless in excess. As someone else said, it's the theobromine which is bad for them. But they need to eat a lot. |
