      I love tornadoes and storms!

You know, I have a love and passion for severe storms and tornadoes! Although I don't like the ones that destroy property and lives. Tornado wind speeds can range from 60 miles per hour to over 200 MPH!

I love tornadoes of all sizes:

      From small slender tornadoes

To large mile wide wedge tornadoes

Do tornadoes always hit the ground? Yes, once a funnel cloud hits the ground it's always classified as a tornado; doesn't matter if its weak or strong. They form under something called a Wall Cloud from a supercell thunder storm.

Tornadoes go in a fairly straight line, they usealy go with the motion of the parent storm. Notice the path of the tornado starts off going in one direction then makes a sharp U turn. This tornado was over two miles wide, unfortunately some lives where lost because of this unexpected turn. They always have the potential to make an unexpected change in direction. Since tornadoes can move over 70 MPH (Not the wind just its movement) a situation can go from safe to dangerous really fast.

The moral of this is to not get close to a tornado at all. If you feel the need to get somewhat close, give the tornado room to breath; if there is an unexpected turn you have enough time to act. This tip is more or less for storm chasers. Also another reason to stay clear from a tornado is to make sure another one doesn't drop on your head.

I can literally go on all day writing about this. This only the tip of the ice berg. So what do you guys think of tornadoes? If you have any questions just ask me.

      Am I a meteorologist? no....wish I was

Tornadoes are quite cool. We don't get many in Leeds, though I do plan on going to tornado valley at some point.

Also, is your picture One-above-all, by any chance?

More extreme storms are pretty scary, but I've always found that whenever there's an electrical storm, I get all excited and energized.

Yes, it is. I assume you are a Marvel fan?

I live in a desert where we don't get tornadoes. You know what would be my dream chase vehicle?

A four wheel drive truck with a portable Doppler radar mounted on the back of the truck; with hail guards so my vehicle doesn't get dents all over it and broken windows. My goal is to gain as much scientific data on tornado producing storms as possible.

      Portable Doppler Radar

      Ham Radio

      GPS-------------------- First Aid Kit

      and much MUCH more.

I am indeed. Favorite being Deadpool. Can't say I've remotely planned for studying tornadoes.I also know next to nothing about cars, so no clue what my preferred vehicle would be.

I probably would be super scared to see one in real life, but I too have a fascination with tornadoes. I used to dream about them all the time when I was a kid, I loved those dreams so much.

      I also like tsunamis.

I used to dream a lot about big waves destroying everything. Still do, but not as often.

      I also love storms!

I got more and a link to even more of those!

Best storms are the ones on big gas planets, like Jupiter's Big Red Spot:

That's a picture with slight colour enhancement but from an original NASA picture.
Storming along for hundreds of years at least.

Whenever there is a tornado in my area, I go out looking for it. Once in a while, I pull off seeing the tornado when I do that.

This is a good video of an insane tornado that hit Hattiesburg, Mississippi a year ago. I know several people who sat through it.

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
