The Upcoming Lunar Eclipse Tetrad

So, there is an upcoming total lunar eclipse visible in North America on the morning of next Tuesday. Really early morning. I believe it peaks around 4:00 AM EDT. The reason I am posting is because this is a rare event, and these cosmic events were always very interesting and inspirational to me as a child.

Just incase you didn't know, you don't need to protect your eyes from this eclipse. It's a misconception that you need to protect your eyes for lunar eclipses.
The moon will turn a brilliant copper color, that almost looks like blood had covered the moon.
This is the first of 4 total lunar eclipses in the next 6 months. This is called a tetrad. These are quite rare. There are actually a total of 9 tetrads in this century, but in the past 300 years there have been very few, near none.

Thought I would just give you guys a heads up.
Eclipses are a dream sign of mine, btw.

We'll get it here in NZ too! On Tuesday in the late afternoon (peaking when it gets dark), according to some website I found. Might be incorrect, but I guess I'll have the right times when it's on the news. Really excited to see it!

I heard about this, definitely going to watch it! I love these types of things, I always watch the space station fly over ^o^

Dang I think it's supposed to rain where I am too

but I'll still try to check it out if I can. Never seen any type of eclipse before so I hope I don't miss it.

With such a name - of course people take it as another opportunity to "hope" for the end to come again.
They'll get disappointed, as per usual.

There's a good chance you've already seen this stunning image pop up on your newsfeed or dashboard at some point. With over 70,000 shares on Facebook and features on dozens of media outlets, Texas-based photographer Mike Mezeul II's shot of the recent blood moon lunar eclipse has officially gone viral. While many photographers went without sleep on April 15 in order to photograph the rare natural phenomenon, Mezeul's image is particularly unique. The foreground consists of a vibrant field of bluebonnets, contrasting beautifully with the night sky. Shining above the field are images of the phases of the lunar eclipse, showing the moon's path across the sky throughout the night.

Creating the final image took a lot of time, patience, and effort. Mezeul first photographed the field of bluebonnets before midnight, and then spent the next seven hours shooting the moon and its progression across the sky. After a long night of shooting, he post-processed the photos and masked different shots of the moon phases into the image of the field. The final result is a spectacular composite image that highlights the beauty of nature and the night sky.
