Just saw this a few minutes ago. Serious shock. Just goes to show that anyone can succumb to depression.
RIP, funny bearded man.

Fisher King
Death to Smoochy
Toys
The Birdcage
Robots
Popeye!
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
This is so sad. :blue:
I had a dream years ago where I had a really special bond with Robin Williams and we were going to run away together... It was so emotional, I still remember it vividly.
What a guy. RIP.

President Obama has issued a statement. “Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between,” he said. “But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams.”
My Statement: "I'm Rainbow Fucking Randolph!"

Loved his part in Good Will Hunting. .-.
:(
Aww man I was still waiting for jumonji 2!
So sad. Depression is awful. Holding him and his family at the height of respect and love right now.
DAMN, 2 great actors gone in just a few weeks.
:(
The world suddenly got a lot less funny. I mean, if the funniest man in the world couldn't fight depression, what hope do the rest of us have :blue:
I'll try to have something less depressing to say about this later. Right now I'm still just WTF
I found that Robin Williams dream, gonna post it here. This led to my first ever DEILD, too!
Failed my attempt at the Task of the Month from January 2011... I got it in the next dream though.
Thanks for the lucidity trigger, Robin Williams! :)
Spoiler for Robin Williams Dream:
Alladan was my Favorite with Robin Williams :(
Cya Rob, you will be missed... :(
dayum shayum
My psychologist mentioned this during therapy today because there's been speculation that he may have had bipolar disorder, but I went blank and couldn't remember who this "Williams" character was.
/facepalm'd afterwards like a goon
This kind of news don't affect me normally but this one hit me hard. I saw it on Twitter and couldn't believe it. A week ago I saw Dead Poets Society, which is an awesome movie and instantly recalled this fragment. Robin Williams acts as Keating for those who haven't seen it.
Keating: "Seize the day. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may." Why does the writer use these lines?
Charlie: Because he's in a hurry.
Keating: No. Ding! Thank you for playing anyway. Because we are food for worms, lads. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing, turn cold and die.
It's so sad. Rest in peace captain.

^This touching tribute from The Academy kinda gives a whole new meaning to the classic Disney scene.

Everyone hold back the tears or we're all gonna end up drowning up in here. :crying:

I keep pouring over the quotes...
"Comedy is acting out optimism"
"Reality: what a concept!"
"No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world."
"In America they really do mythologise people when they die."
"When in doubt, go for the dick joke."
But the thing that stands out to me most was my interaction with the cashier who broke the news to me. I told her it reminded me of when George Carlin died, how my family had watched those performances together, just like we had with Robin Williams...and her first response referred directly to Patch Adams.
And I told her, "well, we'll always have the movies I guess".
Yet a part of me immediately held dear the first uncensored look I had at him, in middle school on HBO at my friends' house. My first thought was of:

We quoted that special like it was going out of style.
"You gowna dy!" became my favorite celebrity impression thanks to that performance.
He made my face hurt from laughing so hard. That's why I'm so sad about it, maybe.
HAHA remember this one!

great actor though i don't feel sadden by his death as it was his personal choice to end his life.
