Thread: Shower Thoughts

I've been pondering an idea for a few showers now. One of the main ideas from inception that I think is often overlooked. Planting an idea in someone else's mind.

Theoretically this could only work if indeed shared dreaming or telepathy was possible, which a lot of people don't believe is. To try this, I would speak to someone in a dream whom I rarely talk to, but yet have a good connection with and tell them to call/message me when they wake up. The issue of ethics comes up of course, as I would never want to be manipulating someone. So it's just something I've been pondering

What if there was a game show that involved a contestant having to identify a relative or celebrity guest star by the smell of their farts. Like they would be blindfolded and wearing headphones so they wouldn't know who was in the room, so each person would stick their butt up to the contestant's face. I imagine it already exists in Japan.

I... I can do that with some of my friends. As in, we're in a group and suddenly someone clearly lets one go, I can fairly often figure out who it was by the smell. Is this my shitty superpower or something?

haha, Spellbee and Burke. I run away when one of my kids rip one. Their farts can kill people!
I do like guessing which one of the kids walks past my room by the sound and pace of their footsteps.

I don't tend to think of anything when I'm in the shower. It's one of the few, blessed times my thoughts are actually silent... unless it's a random "oh yeah" moment "Don't forget to take the trash out tomorrow."; "you have an appointment day after tomorrow." That sort of thing.

You probably just have a good sense of smell. I read an article about bacterial signatures in each persons house, and apparently households all have their own ecosystem of microbial life, and the people living in the house are a huge part of it. I think this is more common, but I can smell people's houses. If you give me an object that was just taken from a friend's house, chances are I will know just by smelling it. I think these "house smells" are actually the smell of the microbial signature. That is also why they go away after like a week of not being in the house.

How can "severe" and "severed" be pronounced completely differently just because of a "d" at the end?

Was thinking that I should write a book based on my life story. That way I could vent about all the crazy things that happen in my life (Lucid dreams, Pre-cognition, telepathy moments, etc), and people wouldn't dismiss it since its just a story. Oh well...

Well the accents are different. If we had a way to write accents (kind of like Chinese) they would be in different places with the different words. Also the reason English has so many really similar words with totally different pronunciation is because an overwhelmingly large amount of English is drawn from other languages and thus two similarly spelled words might have different roots and different pronunciations. At least I think that is the reason.

I always think about naked people and what I would do with them when I'm in the shower.

Does that count? I hope it counts.

I do a lot of philosophy in the shower. It is one of the only times in the day where there is nothing I could or should be doing, nothing I can be doing. Even if I have no responsibilities I feel like I should or want to do something fun. When I am in the shower, it is just me and my thoughts.

Although if I do say so myself I quite like the idea of sitting in a nice arm chair to do my philosophy.

Two things:

1. Work out arguments at work preemptively, or
2. I imagine that I'm a guy at a masquerade ball, and I hit on all the ladies.

Usually it's the second one. I know, I'm weird.

I tend to use my shower times as an organizational planning period. As Avian mentioned above, there is not much else one can do in the shower, so I figure I might as well prepare for the things that I am going to do afterwards. There's always though the occasional deep thought, but I usually don't think about them afterwards.
