The small things that make you happy.
People are sad, they're very sad, and for good reason, it's a sad world.
Regardless, I believe that there are plenty of things in day to day life that we don't appreciate as much as we should. I've been the cynic for a good portion of my life and i've got the beatdown that life gives a lot worse than a lot of people, but once again we shouldn't let the complications write our entire lives, that would be a complete waste.
I was running today, I completed a short two miles and decided to lay down near a church as a pat on the back for doing it. It was 38-36 degrees when I was laying down so I got to see the steam rise from my body, I started thinking "Damn, I'm hot" a chuckled to myself. It was nice to feel the air flow into and out of my lungs as I was resting, especially since the air was cold, it made me feel alive. While I was laying down I looked up at the sky, I live in a suburban area in the middle of urban sprawl so there is quite a bit of light pollution yet the stars still managed to shine tonight (the beauty of autumn and winter). To top everything off, I got to see a shooting star while staring at the sky.
You see, an accumulation of small things make all the difference. The brain is a junkie for misery, but you don't have to be. Even if you have no one to go to in the day to day life, come here and post, a community of screens is still a community if communicated properly.
