Is our Universe a computer?

Hey guys, just read about that and wanted to hear your thoughts :P

Summary:
Physicist James Gates Jr. allegedly found code, which resembles computer code we use every day, in mathematical equations of so called "Super Symetrie". It's a form of error correcting code similar to "Block Linear Self Dual Error Correcting Codes", vital in the exchange of digital information as they monitor code sent and measure it against whats already know, self adjusting themselfes to accurately transmit and recieve information.

Definitely. And the primary function, wherever you look, is the brute-force algorithm.

The fundamental forces cause the elementary particles to collide randomly until Hydrogen is found, which then collides randomly every-which-way within stars until the rest of the atoms are found and form heavier stars and planets.

The atoms are then combined in every possible sequence through planetary forces like plate-tectonics and volcanic vents until the carbon-oxygen cycle is found...

Then evolution takes over and every sequence of A,C, G and T is explored. Then the nervous system explores the various ways of connecting neurons and we invariably develop computers and finally get to dabble around with source code until we find a way, however slight, to improve it.

What is the universe trying to find? I believe it is simply looking for a new way of ordering itself...

I've heard of this and think it's very plausible. It aligns with the holographic theory and explains the evidence for that. Perhaps it's a type of futuristic schooling system where we all have to go through various situations in order to be well rounded human beings - thus the reports of past lives. Supposedly we may even be in a simulation within a simulation within a simulation lol. I don't like the idea of just being the product of some stupid video game, I'd like to think my life has more meaning than that, even if I'm only fooling myself. Anything is possible!

Are You Living in a Simulation? It's a very fun mental experiment to determine if we are actually in a computer. The belief is we aren't even the focus of it, but a byproduct of whatever the simulation is trying to find.

Basically, we are a glitch.

Why "allegedly"? This is science; it's not secret, it's in the public domain. When physicists make discoveries, they publish them in journals. I can't find any reference to Professor Gates's article on Google, and the source in your website is just a broken URL.

Allegedly because I did not research the story well enough so I could be a hundred percent sure, although I don't doubt the source. Also the link works for me, maybe try another device?! I found a lot of articles when just googling "james gates code"

Because that's a MASSIVELY simplified manner of what actually happened. Reddit debunked this as "WE ARE IN A COMPUTER" and more of it's just the rhythm of everything already.

It's interesting to speculate, but the more information surfaces about how the universe actually works, the more it mirrors how our brains work. By this, I mean that it is beginning to get more and more difficult to determine what was are experiencing isn't due to the limitations of human comprehension the function of the mind or if this is truly how things work. Nature appears to manifest itself in such a manner that it's form seems to match its function of existing. It's hard to determine if what we are experiencing, therefore, is the limitations of human comprehension and how the mind functions, or if there really is even a difference between the universe and the human mind at all. It makes more sense to me that the universe is a conscious entity, that it is mental. It draws similarities on computers simply because computers work in, from what I have been able to research and know based off of that (not to mention my life experiences), the same manner as the mind. The mind simply has more processors and transistors. So whether or not we are talking about the universe being a computer simulation or the experience of something all encompassing that we are merely thought forms in that reflect itself becomes rather difficult to discern. It's all too theoretical in the unscientific sense of the word to actually be able to determine which it could be, or if it is none of the above.

Evidence may suggest it being something like a computer, but that does not make it so. The information we have is far too limited to come to a conclusion like that and claiming that it is the truth is foolish and just wishful thinking.

Sounds a lot like proto-consciousness and Orch OR. A fundamental fabric of existence at the Planck scale. I kind of like it because there's no need for duality. Nothing is outside of physical reality.
