Does anyone know the name of this movie?
It's about a woman who has a recurring nightmare about a man who breaks into her house, attacks her and on a few occasions tries to stab her with a knife. She wakes up (false awakening), walks into the kitchen, opens the fridge and the man appears, grabs her and tries to kill her and then she wakes up.
She sees a sleep specialist who shows her how REM sleep works and uses a device with an audio cue to help her confront her attacker through lucid dreaming. He also gives her special medication that makes her hallucinate and act out her dreams, but forgets to take her off the meds before she goes overseas, resulting in her almost killing herself (falling off a building or something) at the end.
A noteworthy scene: She is dreaming of a happy place with green grass, blue sky and a boat taking her across a flowing river, when in real life, the man is standing at her bed dangling keys in front of her face, causing a jiggly sound that filters in her dream. When she wakes up, she is attacked and the man yells, "Where is he?" or something, and this causes the recurring nightmare.
