I adore rainy days very much. Especially when it's dark and muggy outside, there is a sense of isolation from society and departure from the world that comes with it. |

My old roommate... whenever it started to rain, he would open the balcony doors and take his bowl of cereal or whatever outside and chill there. |

I prefer summer over rainy days because I hate getting my feet wet and the mud. But if I'm not going out, I love the rain. |

I like rain. Sunny days are fine, but I don't want them all the time... To not have rain, what then? We use water to grow food. Snow's cool too. |

I think what makes rainy days the best to me is the departure from an everyday setting and feeling a sunny or even cloudy day presents. The world seems to take a break, go into suspended animation, while the rain is effectively a means of self-healing, thunderstorms further solidify that it is a break from the norm. The water comes down and washes all the dirt away. Despite the constant noise that is going on, the noise is soothing in that it is such a natural form of white noise. It lulls me into a highly relaxing stupor, or I guess you could say that the rain is effective at inducing a trance-like state. I used to fear storms, although I did like it when it rained, but now all of it is my favorite weather. If it happened all the time, I wouldn't like it as much, I think. |
