I love when that happens! ;-)

Has anyone else ever have a dream come to a conclusion (whether a happy one or not) seconds before your alarm goes off?

It's as if your mind knows that your alarm is about to go off and just wraps the dream up in some way right before it sounds.

Nothing pisses me off more than when I'm dreaming and the alarm goes off before I know how it will end!

(hey, andorf, what's the Russian on your sig say? It's hard to make out.)

Anyway, very few of my dreams conclude before I wake up. When I was younger I used to try and finish them after I woke up or before I went to bed. On a few rare occasions it allowed me to re-enter the dream, thought since I didn't know about LDing, I could really take control and the dream ended up progressing on a subconscious-led course. I need to try that again.

I had a few dreams where they showed the credits scrolling up screen like after Tv programmes, with music and all...and then I wake up

Well, I haven't had that problem in many months - I've stopped using an alarm clock!

If you have a regular schedule during the week - like always waking up at a specific time in the morning to go to work or whatever - you'll be amazed at how your mind seems to stick to that schedule. That's probably exactly what's happened to you, Clarity, your mind did now it was getting close to waking time!

I stopped using alarms for three reasons:
      1) I usually just shut them off and go back to sleep,
      2) improved recall
      3) I've read that in eastern philosophy or beliefs, waking up before you completed your dream was bad for you - it was like an interrupting your natural sleep cycle. I tend to believe this because many times I would actually ache if awakened suddenly - like by the fr*@!* alarm!!
