I run into this whenever I talk to DV members in real life. Everyone thinks they know how to pronounce a members SN. It is quite amusing, so now is your chance.
Anyway, me first:

Rak ~ like the word "rock"
kan ~ like the word "con"
te ~ like the word "bleh" but with a "t" sound at the beginning; "teh"
ki ~ like the word "key"
mu ~ like the word "moo"
sou ~ like the word "so"
ka ~ like the word "ah" but with a "k" sound at the beginning; "kah"
Rakkantekimusouka. R-A-K-K-A-N-T-E-K-I-M-U-S-O-U-K-A. From the Japanese words rakkanteki, meaning "hopeful, optimistic", and musouka, meaning "dreamer"; hence the custom title -- or the first part of it at the moment, anyway. :P

woah - how do you get that?
"gess e ka" would be the " 'leet" spelling.
"ge three three e ka"
I never would have guessed the threes are s' first, then become threes. Is that what you meant?
lol :lol:Quote:

Anyway my name is just "Dangerous" with "Russ" (short for Russell, which is my name) instead of "rous" as used in the original word.
'round here, you can say "DAINJA-russ", or with a little less soul: "Danger Russ."
hehQuote:

This is abit different than anyone expected, but:
N.E.S (As in Nintendo Entertainment System, or just Nintendo) Guh ERL Wuhn Huhn dread & N ine teen (which actually holds a special event of mine that I refuse to reveal, especially so soon).
Coral, like the sea animal, and Rives, sounds like thieves. Rives is my middle name. Together, CoralRives, should be a play on words and sound like Coral REEFS and is the name of my SCUBA bidness. Got it??? :?
I don't think anyone really needs help with mine, but..
Tiger Hawk
:P
usually something like:
drhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/g.../GIF/emacr.gifm • skhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/g.../GIF/amacr.gifp
But if you are feeling particularly affectionate, then you can also pronounce it:
drhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/g.../GIF/emacr.gifm • skhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/g.../GIF/amacr.gifp • http://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/g.../GIF/emacr.gif
Well this is fun!
[b]Clairity
*Clears throat*
"mit - see - un - dur - skoor - thur - tee - won" OR just "mitz" (pronounced "mits") for those of you who can't be bothered. :D

Luu-sid Bee-ginn-err. What the hell, how many posts do I need to make to change this label??
I've heard people try to pronounce my screen name before on teamspeak and it amazed me that anyone from England could do it, Californians easily could also pronounce my name, whereas people from Wisconsin, Boston and the Mid-US have no clue at all. I heard them try Surfer, Sey-fer, See-far...
Its pronounced as its spelt if you look at the letters phonetically.
Sifr: S - eye - fuh - Er
Then again that last bit can be varied. Some people pronounce R is Ah whereas some pronounce it as Er (my accent) lol.
If you get stuck, just think of the word Cypher, pronounced exactly the same (since it was based on my spelling) and meaning Zero or Void.
Thats about it, how complicated for an explanation eh? lol. I could make it worse and say Sifr is just my screen-surname and my first screen-name is Sunyata... points go to anyone that can figure out what thats supposed to mean and how they link together! lmao :D
But yeah, just make it Sifr.
gay-zeus
You can change it in your profile. How else do you think Starseed got to be "Lucid God?"Quote:

SIfr, on behalf of the people of Wisconsin, I apologize for our not being able to pronounce your distinctly and coincidentally Californian moniker. They like to think they're better than us at everything.
They're wrong, of course. They might have a bigger dairy industry, but we're far better at consuming dairy products than they'll ever be.
:rolllaugh: :rolllaugh: ... stop... stop the pain...Quote:

LOL! Ah, no apologies needed, I was sticking it to myself somewhat, different regional pronounciations burdened me since I moved across the country. Just cause I pronounce things differently people think its funny... just cause I say Gr-ass instead of Gr-arse! I mean, where did that extra R come into play? :rolleyes:Quote:

Then again, whereas people I know ask for a glass of Water as "Gl-arse of War-Ter", I confuse them all with "Gl-ass a' Wa'ER" dropping that T and totally accenting my R!
Yes... now I've given needless exposition, I'm going to back away from this keyboard and go sit with my idiolect in the corner *walks away embarrased*
hey you're right sifr, I'm from boston and I thout it was "siffer" until now.
Ditto.Quote:

Pronounced either like the two English words, or as I like to think of it, with the syllables rearranged:
Edit: I lied, it's probably closer to: Dee-stahnt-kuhloan
Like how Ms. Cleo would pronounce it.
