      French is my personal favorite.

I also really enjoy English (when spoken in a certain way - refer to classic literature).

Arithmetic is a language, so is Algebra, and even Geometry is a langauge. Yet, I know of no spoken equivalent to geometry.

And, what is the beautiful? I would hazard a guess is that which attains to the greatest virtue in usage. This would mean that, given this standard of the beautiful, simple arithmetic suffers the least conceptual errors and ussages than any other language barring binary computer langauge.

As Confucius noted, with his rectification of names, most other languages are not really up to a standard in language to begin with.

I do not equate pleasing to the ear with the beautiful. Just as appearance does not determine what is beautiful, but reality does. So, the beauty in a language is determined by its development towards the function of a language--to record the past through which we can predict the future so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. The cash register currently wins.

Well I'd say either English, since it's by far the largest and expressive language in the world, Latin because of the feeling of power it can invoke, or Russian because it sounds absolutely beautiful.

i think American is the best language.
      kookyinc and Xox like this.

The evening hangs beneath the moon, a silver thread on darkened dune.
With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.

Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
A thousand pictures fill my head,

      I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
and yet my limbs seems made of lead.

I'd say the Latin based languages take the cake, perhaps because this is the most familiar to my ears. However many of the Eastern language are beautiful in their sheer complexity.

I love Latin. And base-10 algebra.
My least favorite language is HTML.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Mony is an infidel, Hungarian is the most beautiful language. Once you can use the language to have intelligent conversations, it's absolutely awesome.

I've always liked the look of C, but have recently found C# more visually appealing, if not quite as useful.

      That's not a language. It's a tagging system.

I personally like Russian the best; especially the female Russian accent.

I'm quite fascinated by the welsh language right now. Especially the use of "W" as a vowel. It's a really beautiful and flowing, well-articulated language.

And I have to be a bit patriotic and say norwegian as well.
