V - Day is lame, if you need one day in the year to show someone you love them that is so, arrggg, it needs to be spontaneous and when you feel it not when you are told you should do it. I'm an absolute romantic but V - Day makes me sick.

I totally agree with you, you should show the one you love how much you do love her whenver you have the chance to and not plan it out on the SAME day every other place is.

BTW, I'm getting my GF a cactus for Valentines day.

Well V - Day is almost over here in NZ and I must say it actually knocked the cynic in me a little. It was nice to see lots of people happy, showing affection and giving to their loved ones. Shame it is a manufactured day to make money but all the same nice to see love around!

For me, V-day went quite well. Instead of our usuall laugh at the coupples buying into this crap. Me and a few frirnds let ballons float away, with little messages on them It was quite sweet.

Anna_Mae and my V-Day went down well
We aren't very keen on holidays like this, but we have a sort of tradition going for collecting the teddy bears that a certain jewellery shop gives away with V-Day purchases

This time, we had absolutely no money, and I didn't have a car to go anywhere with either
So she completely believed that she wouldn't be getting anything

I got a work colleague to take me to the shop, and I used an account

I then left the teddy bear and the right next to her other teddy bears by her PC
And waited for her to find it

It worked out real well, cos when she got home we were talking about how we have no money, and what a pity it is
(and cursing the person who owes us money)
Then she walked to her computer... and came back grinning

I would have loved to get one of those! I mean, how many ppl get their g/f's a cactus? I don't like the commercial end of Valentines Day, but it's a nice reminder for some people who have trouble giving gifts/attention to their others.

Yeah, the cactus thing is really sweet. Seeing as my school is full of chavs, all we got other that our baloon thing is 'couppls going to the toilet together'.

As for the cactus it is cool, the best gift from a lover I was ever given was one that did not cost a cent just a lot of thought. It was totally unexpected, i love that. I'll never forget it as long as I live and I’m almost sure it will never be topped.

i got her a new gift i found a old teddy bear and grabed some thread and cloth so i made a PHANTOM OF THE OPRAHA ( ?) bear she liked it and went " awwwwwwwwwwwwww" iits kinda depressing because i dont really like her as a GF but she is a great friend but i was presured into it

Well, CT sent me a box of freaking Godiva Chocolates all the way from Holland to my out-of-town job. My favourite chocolates. There are like, 2 left. I just recorded him some of my music and junk (yeah, I'm a cheap ass). But I will have sex with him the next time I see him to properly thank him for the chocolates.

And Godiva Chocolate?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ERGH! Someone needs to talk to my b/f. Sure he got me a super-soft teddy bear (which he's surprisingly good at picking out), and chocolate (hershey hugs), and some other stuff, but I don't quite think he's realized that sometimes some more... refined sweets can make a better impression than a teddy bear.
