Edit: I did this, because I think the header we have is Dull and needs proper tunning. Actually, if anything needs to be done to this new header if it is ever used here then tell me.
I like BPauba's art, but I think a better banner could be derived from it.
Anyway, if you go to the "teams" button on the site toolbar you can join/view the art team, which is already working on something similar, though it seems the idea has stalled for the moment. This banner is actually the second DV banner we've used, and we're considering moving to an animated banner next. Anyway, if you're interested, check the art team forum for more info.
I don't really see how that header makes it "less dull."

After all I did this in less than 5 minutes. Pauba and I can get one done. If you guys have any ideas. I am in the art team I believe, but I think it is easier for an independent team to get this done.
Probably, but the problem is last time we redid the site, some people didn't like it. A few more than we would've liked. If we change it again, we want a positive response, so we've played around with a few ideas but we haven't chosen yet for fear of rushing into it. I seperate group doing the banner would be good, but the worry would be that not everybody likes it. If possible, work up a prototype/sketch banner and post it in the Art Forum, and we'll see what people think about it.
