thats crazy, man this things are bad. Makes you rethink your life doesn't it?

I've been watching it on CNN for a while, now.

Wow, you saw it, Nina?

Jesus. Can you imagine being the families that have to receive the news so close to christmas? So sad.

I also saw it on the news. That's just awful and I can't imagine having witnessed it.

Having recently experienced the loss of a dear friend, I've found myself more and more appreciating the lives of those around me. And as nina said, live each day to the fullest.

I just saw the footage on CNN tonight. They kept replaying it. All I could think was that must be the most horrendous thing for the victim's families to have to see over and over and over again. Especially this close to Christmas.

That's awful. They were still searching for one more victim last time I watched. I couldn't even imagine what I would have felt if I'd seen such a tragedy live.

I really do hope they find that last person.

You're right, that was bloody callous of me, and I apologise.

I wish the families and others affected by it all the best, it would be hard dealing with such a random incident.

Oh fuck that, no one gives a shit about the people dying slow, horrible deaths from hunger and oppression in some foreign country! If you have never donated one cent to any of those people then why the fuck should you care about some mid to upper class society people on their way to exploit underprivileged people on some paradise island? And for those of you who have, you may skip below remarks.

Death is pretty much always a horrible thing - but put the shit in perspective every now and then and you'll realize that this is nothing more than a group of army ants caught under God's magnifying glass on a hot sunny afternoon.

My sympathies to the families of those who's loved ones perished in that accident - but as for the drama from a simple observation from roller - blow it out your ass! Hell, that same connection ran through my mind as well! Just keep sippin them martinis from your balcony and observing only those few thousand yards before you as if that represents the whole world.

Drama? What drama? I don't see any drama. You are the one who has just made the drama. You think it's appropriate to make jokes about people dying? You think that just because they were tourists...that they don't matter? Are you SERIOUS? This has nothing to do with starving people in the world...what the HELL is your point in bringing that up...I'm not allowed to feel bad about watching 20 people die just because there are other people sufferring in the world? That is asinine.

And the reason I said I watched it from the comfort of my lovely balcony...is just to show how MUCH we really take for granted. So don't throw that shit back in my face about sippin Martinis.

See that's what I don't get... at no point did I make fun of them bursting into flames and plunging into the sea, that'd be something along the lines of "is it just me or is it getting a little hot in here?" etc etc. I simply made an observation on the title of the thread, with no malicious intent to make fun of their deaths, so maybe there is a little drama. Nah Roller...you're fine. No worries. You didn't directly make a joke about anyone dying. I guess it was just the fact that you simply posted a senseless and in my opinion inappropriate comment in a serious thread. At least it was serious for me. Quite traumatic actually. Maybe I am making too much of the whole thing. But I hope you can realize that it's a whole other issue when you SEE the damn thing happen in front of you, than when you just read about it in the paper or see it on the news.

No drama? Oh, sorry, my bad - it's hard sometimes to distinguish between the different Niña's that come into these threads sometimes. Wasn't sure if it was the dramatic and depressing nina as seen in the "Ultimate Betrayal"-type posts, friendly and polite Niña often seen in the Newbie section, or the pissed off and irrational Niña occasionally seen in chat (and which has earned you some "time-out" here on DV). All of which sometimes change with the speed of a flip of a switch.

I may be in sucky ohio, but I'm happy with my spaceous 3 bedroom, two-car garage home which I maintain on my own.

And come wednesday my sister and I will be enjoying a LOVELY 2 bedroom, fully furnished condo right on the beach.
